Hi all,bit of a long shot but just trying to find out more about my 3ltr Capri.

I bought the car atound four years ago from a guy on Romney Marsh in Kent.

He was very open and honest about what I had bought.

Once I had gotten the car home(had already driven it) the task of stripping it out began as it is my next race car.

However,I was very pleasently surprised with the various parts already fitted to it.Things like RS 3100 front hubs,in excellent condition, all interior,2-8 capri, again in excellent condition, sold very easily. Most of the work has been sorting out slight rusting in the usual places and also cutting out the original wheel arches and extending the rears out to meet the x pack extensions.

I was told that the shell was a 1600 originally, not bothered too much by that, but problem being that when the car was rebiult,it was never registered with DVLS as a three ltr.In its original 1600 form it was owned from new by Joanna Lumley!Cant be many about with that name in the logbook.Number plates were in black and chrome with Oldskool Ford engraved into them.Reg number ---777- Its a 1976 car.Hopefully someone on here will know who/what garage biult the Diamond White car originally?

Basically all I need is for the original garage to confirm in a short letter, thst they are happy with the work they did in order that I can get the logbook/V5 changed. The car is not for sale but so that I can race it,I really do need to get it registered as a three litre car. Thanks in advance.TECB

You only need to provide evidence that an engine change has been properly done while the car is paying full tax. Once the car is 'historic' you don't need to. I'm not sure of the exact dates for your car, but it can't be many months away from being eligible for historic status.
