Type 9 gearbox.no reverse

Changed engine and box in the escort. Couple of issues noted.

 

I can't get reverse gear. Adjusted clutch but it's like if it's not there. I did have reverse when I bought it. The only change is I swapped the Sierra stick for my quick shift that I used on old box.

 

The engine is sitting higher than before say half inch and exhaust downpipe is knocking against car. Same exhaust and mounting.

 

It's a tough job doing engine and box change on your own in a small garage with no pit.

stick is round 180 degrees

Make sure stick in correct obviously, make sure the little saddle inside hasn't moved, easily knocked when refitting gear stick, as for your engine undo engine mountings an lift the left hand side of engine up slightly, and the right hand side should drop slightly which should give clearance for exhaust
