When the series creators were developing the characters for Minder and Only Fools And Horses, I don’t think there would have had much discussion about which car Terry and Del Boy should drive. The Capri is so inextricably linked to both characters (though they are both very different), that it’s almost as if the choice of car came first!

And even though the Capris played only a small part in the two now-classic TV series (especially compared with the Capris used in The Professionals), they’ve become an essential part of each’s history, so it’s great to see that both have not only survived — despite one ending up in a scrapyard, later almost destroyed by fire, the other abandoned in a film studio lot — but are now in safe hands thanks to their TV memorabilia-obsessed owners.
