Hi all. im looking for a reliable and decent re-trimmer near me in romford in essex please. i have a set of rover recaro seats and i am looking to have one side of drivers seat re leathered and the basket weave material put into the middle of the seats so it matches my back seat. ideally id love a set of the rs2000 seats in vinyl with basket weave but theres only one seller that has them and at £1700 and a bad experience before, im dubious.

the xr2 models started off at that price, theyve now dropped to about £60 i think roughly on a bidding listing. Capri's will probably follow suit a few weeks after release

There is a rumour floating around that its classed as illegal street trading as the person with the car - me lol doesnt have a trading licence. i cant figure it out though as im not selling out of a suitcase or off a stall and im not selling bulk amounts for proffit. just my own car which owes me more money in servicing and repairs, insurance, mot, tax etc than im selling it for lol

Thats cool, been hearing of some real dodgey stories of people being fined etc for advertising their car for sale in the road - traders i can understand being fined but couldnt understand people being fined if its proved the person owns the car - i.e in their name and being insured in their own name etc - i would almost guarentee that no trader will put the car in their name and insure it on a private policy. Wouldnt put it past this country though to be pathetic and collar an easy penalty as such. I thought about putting them in the passenger rear windows as that does not affect view etc Cheers for the replies there.

Hi all I was making up for sale signs for my "own" car - its insured in my name, registered in my name, taxed in my name and mot'ed. Its currently parked outside my own house - the same house it is registered to on the logbook. How does the law stand on placing an advert in the rear passenger window? Some say its illegal - if it is illegal - what happens if i put all the details down and a phone number but exclude the words "FOR SALE" and also leave a price off of it? Cheers

Hi all. Sorry for delay in posting - nearly dropped off the perch 4 weeks ago lol and only got out of hospital a couple of days ago. At the moment the car isnt driveable - gearbox seal leak somewhere. i been trying to find a company to do a 5 speed conversion, once thats done i can take the car somewhere and get it sprayed. dont want to go mental with it and have to re-mortgage etc but on other hand dont want to put yet another car to my so called mate. I'll give them a check. cheers for that

Don't fully give up mate, October sees the release of a 1/18 Capri mk2 ghia 3 litre in white. A guy on eBay is taking pre orders - if you search on there there's pictures of the model so you can get a feel for what its going to be like. I've got 6 mk2 fiesta xr2's by the same model company and they are very good and well detailed so I expect the Capri to be the same.

I'm looking for a reliable and fair priced bodyshop/sprayer local to Romford. I'm looking to have my mk1 escort resprayed green from yellow and would need some minor rust sorting I'm also looking to have a few little dents done and sprayed on my xr3i. My so called friend has let me down and failed to do my xr2i which he has had for 4 and half years so obviously I don't want to put these his way.

The mk1 came about as i had bought the s1 to have as my wedding car - but got stitched up by a "friend" who id lent money to and couldnt repay it back to me. Said he would re-spray the s1 for me in return - that was 2 years ago, that meant no wedding car, so i found the mk1 on ebay local. Had 58k on clock, genuine with only 5 owners. Needless to say, S1 will be sold hopefully soon and the XR2i and i will also out the XR3i trying to focus on just the mk1. So watch this space if anyones interested in a S1 RS turbo, XR2i or XR3i lol

Cheers for all the posts guys, the dilemma i have is The current box is leaking - somewhere lol I thought instead of repairing the one i have, id go for a 5 speed conversion so when the mk1 goes to shows, its not screaming on the motorways with only a 4 speed. Didnt realise there was quite so much involved lol. Might follow BaileyMex's advice and stick with the 2000E.
