  1. I joined this forum for what it is now and not for what it maybe. We are old skool and not retro !!! I notice new members joining all the time and this won't change because peeps join this site for what it caters for now "Old Skool Fords" If I ever bought a Fiesta Mk2, Esc Mk3 or similar I'd join the relevant forum
  2. Oh I told you to bring 8 bars instead of 9 bar's
  3. Won't be going anywhere far tomorrow, may just nip to workshop and rob a bit of the Cortina, you know I'll be two minutes from home. Bell me first mate. You can let me have my present from Oz then
  4. Evening Dave. I wondered how long it would take you to see this thread. Your slacking mate, it took ages. You spoiled it telling everyone that's you in the pic because I was hoping everyone was thinking I was the good looking one.
  5. It was not a easy decision, but how I had to look at it was that it's just sitting there starting to rust again so it's better to let someone have it that will hopefully do it & appreciate it. Couldn't be without a OSF as it wouldn't be worth living
  6. After ten years me & my 72 Tax free Mk1 parted company a few months ago. I restored her over a period of two years & I had three glorious years of driving her. I took it off the road as some Knob decided to key it all around it. Since then I lost interest & stood it up until recently when I done a deal with a mate for a 1968 2000E Corsair & a nice handful of cash. When I got it it was a total rot box. I pulled it out of a field after standing there with no windows. It was a temperamental job as she almost came out in two bits After many hours of welding & new panels I fitted 2.0 EFi Pinto Type 9 five speed RS Prop, 3.54:1 Diff Panhard Rod Anti Tramp bars Spax Adjustable Shocks Single De Cambered Rear Leafs Polly Bush All round Sierra Rear Calipers & Fiesta Mk1 Discs Capri 2.8i Struts & Brakes Dropped The Front 3 Inch 4-2-1 Down Pipe Nice Peco Exhaust K&N Delivering it to my mates All good things must come to a end. It might be a end of a ere but it's the start of a new one
  7. Evening I'm about a mile & half south of Wymondham, but Waitrose is my local petrol station, if you came up this way via the A11 you was about 300 yards from where I live. I'm going to start a couple of threads up very soon on my cars. We may cross paths one day
  8. His name is Paul & owns a Blue GT Corsair. I believe he is on this forum. I know him from BSC & Corsair forum. My mate who I got the Corsair of & the Cortina is his sons mate. He is relieved that I've ended up with it as I will get it done. I've done a fair bit to it already but limited to what I can do as I've been on crutches on & off since mid June. Since I've had it he's been over to my place & seen it & give me a few bit originally off it. I believe he is on this forum.
  9. Cheers for the welcome Yes that's the one, down the A11. Do you remember it ?
  10. That's the one, doesn't quite look like that, but there is always hope I like the rugged look & it's different, like me I suppose. Don't know much about it really apart from I've had it for a few years, got it running, drop of petrol down it's throat & battery, it fired into life straight away (BMW 1.5 OHC all ally engine) before me it laid to rest in a garage for 19 years. Blokes father had it for around 10 years prior to that. That's all I know of it. It was a horrid gold colour originally, then white & it's present colour black. It needs some welding but untouched & original, could be worse but I reckon it deserves a second chance for getting this far. Wheels were a challenge to find for it been 5 stud, 15 inch Grand Cherokee Jeep ones fit. I like my birds rugged
  11. Afternoon all Better introduce you to myself been a newbie to this forum, but I,m not a newbie to classic Fords & forums. Ady is my name & I'm from Wymondham, Norfolk & I work for myself scrapping cars for a living I've always had a propa Ford lurking in my garden whether been a Mk1 Escort to a Mk1 Transit & a few models in between. I'm not scared of taking on the impossible resto project as I'm always up for a challenge. I'm here to give advice as well as rob some too. A few of you may know me off a few other forums under the same user name. That's me introduced now my resto's First is a 1968 Cortina Mk2 4 Door 1300 Delux...well what was left of it I'm three quarters around welding it up & believe me it's a propa weldathon. I done my knee in at the beginning June, 6 months & two operations later & still healing so I can't finish it off at the moment as most of the welding is underneath the front but will as soon as I can. I'm not a quitter My other one I got because I can't finish the Cortina of is a 1968 4 door Ford Corsair 2000E in good condition for me It had a bit of history been featured in a Tv series Bygones a good few years ago until Anglia TV wrote it off & had to foot the bill to correct it, also it was in three magazines in the mid to late 90's. Since then it's been slowly restored by a couple of peeps until I ended up doing a deal on it. Basically it's solid apart from one bit of welding, engine sorting, suspension updating & a paint job. My third, hang on I'm just going to hide behind the sofa for cover is a 1972 Moskvich 412 hang on before stoning me to death, it will end up with Ford Cortina Mk3,4,5 front suspension bed, Capri rear axle & a Ford engine & box. But I'm not on this forum for this car just my Ford's Well that's the four of us introduced & you'll see us floating around
