I agree. Bright colours suit the mk1/2 much more than something like white or brown IMO, though I'm also a big fan of silver.

Thanks. Strangely the listing states to text questions rather than phone (I'm thinking they may work a shift pattern like I do). Regardless I've mailed as a text would be too long. Thanks for the heads up. KGF get very nice cars in but they reflect that in very nice prices. I'd hazard a guess that a Sport from them will cost the same as an RS from elsewhere but we'll see. TBH the SA source doesn't worry me as long as it's legit and good - condition is more important than anything. The cheapest option on my list is to go for a nice Cortina XR6 which are SA models but as I already have 4 Cortina's I'd prefer something different. For all the Fords I've had I've never owned an Escort.

Hello again everyone. I joined here quite some time back but then drifted back to BuySellCortina and Mk1Mk2Transit (as I'm admin on BSC for a start). I've been saving for a little while with a dream to get a Yank muscle car but it's become obvious that what I'd like is out of my budget. I'm now thinking of a mk2 Escort. Prices for RS models are out of my range too so I was wondering about the Sport model. It needs to be good already (I already have a few good cars plus Cortina S and Sierra XR4x4 projects on the go) and as original as possible (I like originality). This is early days - I don't actually know much about them and what specifics to look for. If anyone could also suggest general prices I can expect I can also think whether these are also out of my budget. Thanks. Dave.

I should be grateful I no longer have my 1984 Sierra XR4i (rear wheel drive, 2. but I still have a 1984 Capri (rear wheel drive, 2.. I guess people don't really want to hear about them? I still have some Cortina's though from the 70's so it sounds as though I might still be OK on here?

Thanks Savvi. I've been on that website a while and it's been a while since there was a Transit pop-top on there. I may just speak to that dealer though, as my budget may well be £4k but I could go higher for the right motor just not anywhere near £9k.

Yeah, and I seem to keep looking at it, but £9k? My budget is unfortunately half of that hence looking for a mk2 which seem to be a bit cheaper.

Hi peeps. Just saying hello now I've just signed up. I'm obviously new here but I've been active on forums such as BuySellCortina, CapriPower, and XRStyle for some time. I've currently got a '71 1.6 Cortina, '78 1.6 Cortina estate, and an '84 2.8 Capri, and I'm also actively looking for a mk2 Transit pop-top campervan (with no luck so far). I'm in work at the moment where Photobucket is blocked, but I can add pics later today when I'm home if that's what peeps like on here. Dave.
