  1. Hi All, I'm wanting to get some work done on the back end of the escort, it's already got a ladder bar drag set up, and I'm either just looking to repair it, or depending on price possibly changing it altogether.... So just wondering if anyone can recommend any garages in the south London/ Surrey area? Many thanks!
  2. Hi all, A good friend has messaged me asking if I can work out a paint code for him, the description is as follows.... Mk2 escort rs colour, and it's kinda Salmon pinky orange kinda thing.... If anyone can work out what colour he is asking for then I'll be amazed and very happy. As the say, if you don't ask you'll never know.... : )
  3. Thanks for all the nice comments, luckily no need for a hole in the nail, the top part has completely gone and whats left at the bottom looks as clean as anything, all seems to be healing nicely. Just going to give it a few more days till to return the car and see what mess I left behind..... : )
  4. went straight through the top cm of my finger and nail, its still attached so just keeping them crossed that it doesnt turn black and fall off. : ) luckly its not that sore anymore so should get a good nights sleep tonight. (oh. the simple things)!
  5. Hey All, So there I was working away on the car (mk1 escy), fully stripped down the back of it, pulled out the diff, Axel, and the Ladder Bar set-up, the diff had been leaking for ages and the Panhard bracket was damaged so it was long over due... I finally got all of the new bits, then re-painted most of it (always nice to tart things up) and the re-build was well under way... I get to the point where im fitting the last 2 bolts, the one in question goes through the chassis rail and mounts the phanard barcket just under the back passenger seat, anyway I couldn't get it lined up and im wriggling it away with no luck, I can feel its nearly lined up with my fingger so i think ok I'll give it a little nudge with my foot against the axel, that'll do the trick... so re-wedged myself against the garage wall and with a quick kick everything moved forward a good inch, it was just a shame I forgot to take my finger out of the rose joint, a sharp shooting pain and quite a loss of blood later I found myself in A&E with a lesson well learnt, don't stick your fingers in places they don't belong!
  6. Thanks for that, turns out Oakcroft garage in chessington had most of the bit I needed just hanging around : D Just need to order a new panhard bracket from burtons and jobs a goddin! Now I also have a shoppig list of big nuts and bolts I also need to find... Oh the joy! Thanks T
  7. Hi All, Im trying to sort out the back end of the mk1 escy and the rose joint and bracket for my Panhard bar are nackered and i need to get them replaced, Im not sure what the sizes are till I get down to the car today, but does anyone know of any good places i could pop into with the bits to match them up? I based near Surbiton, Surrey and tooting south london, if anyone could help that would be great. Thanks Trev!
  8. Hey all, I've finally got an mot on the motor and even blagged the day off tomorrow, all I'm missing is a good place to go... London or Surrey area. Any ideas? Cheers T : )
  9. I hate it when I get trapped under the bonnet! : )
  10. Ok, I'm at a petrol station the other day topping up the escort and this guy walks up to me and does the typical chat, then he get his phone out and showed me a pic of one of the escorts from the new F&F6 movie..... Ok, a bit strange but I'll go along with this for a bit, he then continues with I've got all 6 and we are scrapping them next week! So I pleaded with him not to do that, and I'll even get a buyer in that time, so we swap details and he promises to call later that day, but not heard a thing... So what do people recon? Is the guy just full of it or is it worth chasing? Does anyone know what has actually happened to them after the filming?
  11. I've always sanded over it in the past, and its done the job ok, but if you can get a wire wheel in there Best of luck!
  12. I've grabbed a few stills from the new trailer, Especially like the last one, captions welcome
  13. You've got to do whatever you like mate... Nice and sporty with: Retro cool without: Best of luck with it.
  14. It's finally back on the road! At last, it's taken a few extra weeks as the brakes have been a nightmare, but I took it for its first drive today, even had time to give it its first wash Got a few pics before I washed her: Thanks again for all the nice comment!
  15. Personally whatever we have to do to keep the site going is fine by me. If needs must, then we sort of have to I guess... Anyway we can always delete them if it all goes wrong .
  16. Happy Birthday Darren
  17. Yeah still need some, will have to pop by in the next week and see if you still have a pair Time for some more silly pics.
  18. Thanks again for all the nice comments. The engine is in and I've only got a few bits to bolt up and it's back on the road The cover will have to get painted at some point as its got a few scratches, apart from that I'm really happy with the bay. Time for some pics
  19. Thanks for all the nice comments the paint is Ford Grabber Blue they used it on the early Mustangs and some new ones. I finally got the engine in today and it was nice to see the front sitting a bit lower only a few days to go and it'll be back on the road
  20. First off just want to say hi to all! Its been a bloody cold winter and I'm sure lots of people on here have been out working on their car at some point : ) So.... I think most of you have seen what happened at the summer Wingspan show last year, and what happened was a massive shock to me to say the least, and I count myself very very luck that no one was hurt. But every cloud has a silver lining.... And even after destroying Darren's pride and joy all he wanted to do was help! I don't think I'll be able to thank him enough. Top Top Bloke! So after a bit of a chit chat with Paul Mags the car was stripped and sent off to paint. I know this car is not going to be to everyone's taste, but I really couldn't be happier with it. But feel free to say what you think hehe. Now time for some pics... As we knew her.... And now..... Now time for some arty pics I'm fitting the engine tomorrow and hope to back on the road by Friday fingers crossed.

    Back In

And thank you for being a top bloke! And starting the site, and massively for helping me sort the escort out! Top top bloke!
  22. It is a massive shame that its gone, and not just for the look, but also the amount of effort that went into the last pain job. On the up side I've been tinkering with all the parts while they are off the car (some bits really did need it) So here are some pics. Still a few things on the to-do list.
  23. It must have taken Paul ages to peel them all off
  24. We will never forget it
