  1. One of my favourite things about it, you loose so much character once you re trim. When I 1st put pics up of welding I got quite a kicking from some people on a couple of FB Cortina pages, so much for support from like minded fans, guess you always get idiots where ever you join!!
  2. Bought this last year, had some rot issues, but bought myself a welder and had a go, mainly 1 x inner sill, and drivers floor, welding not pretty as never done it before, but its done the job. Past MOT in May 2017 with minor advisories Got some local car shows coming up (Worthing, Angmering, Storrington and Amberely) that I'll be taking it too. Some pics of past cars, Seat Leon Cupra R 1.8 Turbo, Omega 3.0 MV6, Saleen Mustang S281 4.6 V8 and my daily driver, my Chrysler 300C Hemi 5.7 V8
  3. I make sure I have my steering lock on and handbrake/gear lever lock on at all times, even if just poping into a shop for 5 minutes. I used to take the rotor arm out over night too but stopped, reading these stories I might start taking it out again, a pain in the a** but why make it easy for these scum bags!!
  4. Great looking car....I want one
  5. Thanks, was taken in Godshill village on the Isle of White
  6. Very nice, I had one back in mid 90'S, I felt very executive in it ha ha
  7. Pic of my brown Cortina mk5 2.0 GL I owned in around 1990 and my present daily driver 2.0 Ghia, auto, with power steering. Present car is standard apart from wheels (I have the original Ghia wheels) the inner and outer sills have been done, some welding in the footwell and plates welded left and right in boot, I replaced all the chrome trim (made a big difference to looks), replaced weather seal around boot, new shocks and thats all Ive done really. My past car I had in the 1990 I fitted a Kent cam, 4 branch manifold, 45 weber, peco exhaust, adjustable spax shocks, lowered springs and minulite wheels.
  8. Hi, Just joined, I have a 1982 Cortina MK5 2.0 Ghia auto, with power steering, 83,000 on the clock, I use it as a daily driver, it is a standard car apart from Rostyles wheels, I have owned it since May 2012, bought in Surrey. Look forward to attending some meets, particularly Boxhill as its just down the road from where I work in Leatherhead.
