  2. Top work as always Kieran, great pics. Gutted I couldn't make it, I was on holiday, I'll be at the boxhill meet on the 19th though. Just got to get an mot first.
  3. Thanks for the nice comment, unfortunately I've only got pictures on my phone, it's undergoing an engine change at the moment so I've been using my mk2 to put a smile on my face, it never fails. That's what I'll be taking to boxhill,
  4. That's great news for me, I was gutted i couldn't make the 27th, I rarely miss these meets, it's one of the very few the escort comes out of the garage for, Looking forward to seeing everybody's pride and joy,
  5. I just took my log book to the post office and they sent it off for me to change the tax class and gave me a years tax there and then f.o.c,
  6. He's decided to eBay them
  7. Hi dan, I've sent a message
  8. Retards Club search, revved up meets
  9. I'm going as well, hopefuly in my escort, Your capri is lovely by the way.
  10. I'll be there with a few others
  11. Thanks for the info, Sounds like too much of a risk to use classic trim, I think I'll get the covers from Aldridge and do it myself and save a few quid at the same time, I've fitted the aldridge rear seat covers a few times and they looked first class, couldn't fault them, the fronts are gonna be not so easy, I have striped fishnets before and swaped over covers from one to another but I want them perfect this time, I'll just have to see how it goes and report back.
  12. Just thought I'd let you low about my experience's with east Kent, I've fitted several front and rear screen rubbers from them and they can be a bit hit and miss but generally not bad, rear quarter rubbers fit terrible around the corners, I've fitted 4 headlinings, the first 3 I couldn't fault and would recommend to anyone but the one I fitted last week had some stitching that was a bit pissed and made the whole job look like stevie wonder had fitted it, door rubbers I can recommend, same as the boot rubber also good, inner and outer door glass seals are also pretty good, All of the above were for a mk1 escort, At the moment I'm just trying to decide whether to get classic trim to retrim my rs2000 fishnets at a cost of £750 which I thought was a bit steep or order a set from Aldridge and fit them myself, I just can't decide.
  13. Although I did make it it wasn't how I intended to get there, On my way i pulled into the petrol station and noticed steam coming from under the bonnet, the rad had a pin hole in it and was pissing out coolant so I turned back and went home and had to come in the sierra cossie, still really enjoyed it and next time I'll try again with the escort, thanks to the organisers it's good to have these meets, going up Chelsea now
  14. These are a good qaulity panel but are different from the £600 ones, the more expensive ones which you can get cheaper than that have more than the basic skin, ie sill closing's, gearbox mounts, rear seat brace, full gearbox tunnel plus a couple of other bits, I suppose it depends what you intend to do, but bare in mind to get it in the car you have to either cut the panel in half or brace up the shell and remove the chassis rails, I've done a few now so if you don't have much experience please take your time, if you have done this before then it's an easy job.
  15. Thanks jo, I'll do my best to get there
  16. Thanks for the kind welcomes and might end up saying hello on Saturday
  17. Hi everyone, just introducing myself, my name's John and I'm from carshalton Surrey, I've been an obsessed fan of mk1 & mk2 escorts for over 25 years now and currently own one of each, I am a panel beater/painter and employed to restore classic fords classic American vehicles for a private collector but am quite happy to help if anyone local to me needs any help or advice on their projects, I'm hopping to be at the box hill meet Saturday in my mk2, it's white with black decals with a cossie turbo in it , it's 380hp and a lot of fun so may find someone new to talk to.
