Hya all, just to introduce myself and say WOW!-what a site you have here!
Well i'm mikky-(or 'deck'-'dude', whichever you prefer!)-and i'm LOOKING for any early basket case ford anglia--cortina--escort-(any types)- in the MORAYSHIRE area of Scotland to restore in my spare time and to start 'skilling up'-with something that will cost me next to nowt
to buy, something that may be found in a barnyard and the farmer wants to get rid of, or an 'unfinished project' that needs to be sorted if possible, anything like that that is not going to cost the earth--YOU guy's know what i mean!!
I am a novice to all this resto business, and therefore don't aim to do a 'concourse condition' restoration, but just a couple of weekends here and there in my spare time restoring and keeping alive an older ford, there really is no rush as i'm middle aged and, as i've said above, a novice to it all.
In that regard, there are many sites on the net which teach-(for free!)-upholstery, metal fabrication, basic welding techniques, priming and spraying techniques, as well as a host of other techniques covering brakes, engines, chassis etcetc, but i'll want to pick YOUR brains, the guy's that are alway's at the sharp end, who actually KNOW 'stuff', and who have that wealth of experience to call upon that novice's, like me, simply do not, but WANT to have.
Yes, i will be a 'weekend garage warrior', of that you can be sure BUT!!--my heart and soul are in the right place, i can assure you!
Our family grew up with Anglia 105e's, bedford ca's, standard vanguards-(remember THEM!)-A60's/A40's, the 'tina range, and there's nowt out there today to touch them for class, looks, or prestige! Speak to you later guy's, bye for now!!
