OSF 10TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW & SUMMER BBQ 26/27 July
ClassicMemories replied to Mk2Jo's topic in SHOWS, EVENTS & MEETS
I will be there....! -
Thank you Vista & Mk2Jo...........Can you also confirm is the display stand now full? I believe it is, but there may have been cancellations so worth asking! If there are any spaces on the stand, and you would welcome any more cars, I have a few I will be bringing with a friend which may or may not interest you......My Mk1 Granada is on the stand already, but I have just bought a Mk3 Granada Limousine. It is a very rare model, 6 door, low line, NOT a funeral car with the hideous high roof. This one was a special order vehicle for an executive travel company in '92. We will also be bringing a Consul Farnham and a Mk2 1600E Cortina. We are planning on staying over for the weekend.

Have they started sending the tickets out yet??? And do you need to pre book overnight camping?? I booked tickets several weeks ago, but had not considered camping back then....

Stu, get one of those Motorcycle 'rollerball' alarms mate. How they work is this: The alarm has a chamber with a metal ball bearing inside. When the bike is parked, and the stand is used, be it the centre stand or side stand, the metal ball finds its place and stops moving. The alarm is set, and as soon as someone moves the bike to take it off its stand, the ball rolls and activates the alarm. It works the same way with a car as they are 12 volt systems. Once the car is pushed, moved etc, the ball rolls and activates the alarm. To make it even more effective, Go to Maplins or somewhere similar, and get the loudest most anti social 50 million decible alarm or whatever you can get, and wire that to the Motorcycle alarm! ; ) It is impossible to move the car without activating the alarm! As much of an inconvenience as it may be, if you dont use the car everyday, put it on axle stands as well, and even go as afar as removing a few or all of the wheels. If they want your car, they have to carry a set of wheels and a jack with them, and as soon as they jack it to remove the axle stands, the rollerball alarm will activate, so they wont get very far at all! If all of that is too much mate, and you have a mother in law, lock the bitch in the car every night, and see how pissed she will be when a couple of sewer rats try and nick it and wake her up!! Good luck, sleep easy..... -
Always nice to see your car in print! How did it do in the trials?

Follow this DVLA link mate, it will guide you through what you need to do to trace its history. I am literally just using it myself at the moment to trace the history of my Granada.... www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla -

Please forgive my ignorance here, but first time attending this show, so can someone please clarify if a stand pass is to display your car on the stand, or is it to just allow access to the stand?? I have taken it that it is to just gain access to a stand area that is otherwise reserved only for stand pass holders, but seeing as I seem to be the only person who has requested 2 stand passes, I am guessing now a stand pass is for a vehicle to be displayed and not for 'pedestrian' access to an otherwise reserved area as I had initially thought?? If so, I only need 1 stand pass if possible. -

2 tickets ordered, 2 stand passes requested! -
He bought the green one about a year ago for about £5k, and it was pretty mint then, but he still decided to go about a full restoration on it, except for, I believe the interior, I think that is still as he bought it. I missed the car back then by a few hours, as it went the same day I called to go and view it. I have since acquired my Black saloon which I am more than happy with and would never part with. Stuart P, I may be able to assist you with what you are looking for, I have a few contacts being a Granada fanatic myself. Please send me a PM and we can chat from there.

Nice! You have had some desirable cars. Yes, driving a yank certainly is a different experience to anything else! My Camaro has been under restoration for the best part of 5 years, but set to hopefully return to the road this summer! I cant wait, I have really missed driving it. -

Ah ok, I see the route you are taking. Maybe I can meet up in Wales then, it looks like a good trip with great scenery and routes, so would be a shame to miss out on all of it. Thanks for the reply Ross. -

Hi mate, thank you very much for that! I had planned on attending the show in Bath as it happens, so will be glad of a place on your stand if available. You can count me in for the Retro Rides gathering as well, and if you can confirm the date of the Exeter show, I can check my diary and let you know on that. -

Thank you mate, and I see you have my my second favourite Ford yourself, and next on my list to buy myself! -
Hi everyone, Liam here, currently hiding out in the Bristol area! Small time classic car collector, with Fords and American Muscle being top of my list. My Ford is a '77 Mk1 Granada 3.0 GL. Wanted one my whole life, dad was into them, so its in the fuel lines, or in the blood as some people say! My second favourite Ford, which I will be on the look out for towards the end of this year, is a Mk2 RS2000 custom, droop snoot, in black, with black interior. Pleased to be here, hope to get to as many of the better Ford shows as I can this year, hope to meet some of you there!

Midlands to Wales 2014 18th May (ENTRIES CLOSED)
ClassicMemories replied to RossMK2's topic in SHOWS, EVENTS & MEETS
Hi, just joined the forum tonight, and I am interested in attending this event (MK1 Granada) but live in Bristol, so driving 104 miles up to Telford doesnt make much sense for me, when you will be heading back towards this way anyway I guess, on route to Wales. So I was wondering if I could tag on somewhere near Bristol for the rest of the run into Wales?? If this is acceptable, then please count me in, and let me know where is best for me to jump in along the route as you pass me by somewhere? Thank you very much.....
