Most combinations of parts are available. You need to match up clutch diameter (normally 190 or 205mm) and gearbox shaft splines, (1" 23 spline as already said) also not all starter rings are the same and not all cover plates fit all flywheels, so the way to go may be use a red top flywheel and cover, measure the size of the plate needed, then buy a 1" 23 spline clutch plate to fit. I have just done a zetec rwd conversion but haven't done anything with red tops so someone hopefully can tell you what flywheel and cover to use?

Yes, but if I am doing that I can just get an adapter that will screw a temp switch into the hole thats in the housing. I just think there must be a switch that fits the hole already. Tbh, I looked on evil bay and most of the ford temp switches LOOK like they are all the same large thread, so there's a good chance they will all fit the same, be nice to know if anyone had done it though.

Hi guys. I am fitting a 1.8 silvertop zetec into a westfield that belongs to a friend of mine. I just have a question about the water temp senders. There are two on the thermostat housing, but they are to run into the ecu so the signal is not an on off on either one. I need to know if anyone has found a standard type fan switch sender unit that will bolt into either of the holes. (one is 10mm and one is 17mm but the pitch is a bit odd, so we can't measure it with our gauges) The 10mm one is variable resistance so we hope to use it for the gauge on the westfield, but the 17mm one is useless, has such a tiny resistance we can't use it as a switch. Just wondering if anyone has done this conversion and hit upon a simple solution? We went with Nodiz system for stand alone ecu and are running twin weber 40dcoe's.

Does it have a sunroof? My granny has the same issue and I am in the process of tracking it down. another common cause is if the plastic sheet behind the door cards is damaged, rain water can run down the window glass into the door, onto the back of the door card and that takes it to the inside of the door seal at the bottom. Sunroofs have pipes that run from the sunroof opening down through the car and out the bottom, as a sunroof is not designed to be waterproof. The water runs into the opening and down these pipes. The pipes rot and then leak into the car normally in the roof itself or in the pillars. The guy who restored my granny years ago replaced them all with rubber hose so I know that's not my cause. It does tend to be a small leak, so you can run a hosepipe over trouble areas to see if it starts to drip inside, or if the water in the floor gets worse. Can show up an obvious leak. The lot is wet anyway, so I don't see what more harm it will do and if it tells you where it is, you can get it stopped quicker! I am guessing the fusebox is where my granny could be leaking? I will check that.

I have insured with Adrian Flux and I have to say they were competetive for me, I am 38 and my 2.8 Granny mk2 kept off the road is £95 fully comp. There were others similar price, but AF are the only ones that when I sell my second car will let me put my NCB on the granny to keep it, most of the classic policies won't let you use NCB which means you lose it after 2 years.

Buy a half decent welder (£500) and learn how to do it yourself. You drive old Ford's, it's not like you will ever NOT have a need for welding!

I can't tell you for definite, but when I searched for 5X112mm wheels for my granada lots of american wheels came up so I think it's a standard american stud pattern.

I think they might be the ones I try to get if I can't get my RS wheel repaired. They are not going for silly money. There is a guy fairly local to me selling 3 so I'll see if I can get an odd one.

Subframe back on, brakes sorted, engine service done and oil injection kit fitted to inlet manifold. This is where it stands now. No, they are just like these, with the big centre cap, except they are very definitely 14" and 5 stud. Hi folks. Thought I'd say hi. Brand new here, not been lurking, I am looking for a forum to get some help with a Granada Ghia x I am putting back on the road. I have been restoring and building cars and bikes for quite a while, I build custom bikes with a good friend of mine who is a neighbour. Love rear wheel drive and have restored several Bmw's in the past, my favourite was my E30 325. Anyway. Not new to cars, but I am very new to RWD Fords. My bike building mate is mad on old Fords and has a yard full of them so we have a pretty good collection of parts to keep our cars on the road (He's driving a mk5 tina with a 2lt pinto in it). In Newport, South Wales. Would love to meet up with anyone local who is up for a cuppa and a chinwag. (there's a mk1 I think escort lives down the road from me-wonder if they are on here) My Granny is (now) all solid, I have done all the welding. It was restored about 8 yrs ago so was ok when I got my hands on it apart from the rear jack points which were horrendous. I have dropped the rear subframe off and fuel tank and rebuilt that side of things, new brakes all round including calipers. It's on lpg, and when my mate was running it, the valves were starting to recede, judging by the frequency of valve clearance adjustments, but it's still running absolutely beautifully so we are going to fit an oil injection kit and hopefully that will sort it. Body work is well scruffy, it's been painted in blackboard paint to hide the welding, but I don't care, I am already fully in love with it despite not having driven it yet! The idea is to have a fully sorted and solid mk2 that drives lovely but looks like a shed. Maybe it will be repainted one day, but it's not my priority. I kind of like the survivor look. It has chrome bumpers and a metal front grill off something old and it looks quite scary tbh. I have a question about wheels. It's on some horrific scorpio wavey curvey wheels that I hate. My neighbour has a set of 7 spoke RS wheels in 14" and 5x112pcd, but one of them is damaged after he had an incident in the snow when a roundabout attacked his back wheels. We are not sure what model these are off, they are like the capri ones but in 5 stud? Any info on where they are from? I am looking at getting it repaired, but thinking it might be easier to pick up a spare rim. Anyway, I am not new to forums, and will be around, so please say hi. Thanks Matt
