I was in the grandstand when the mk3 crashed and having watched it do a few runs before hand couldn't understand what made it turn into the outer wall. I did say at the time it must have been a mechanical failure as it just turned and gave no warning or any chance to catch it! Nice to see the guy get out unaided. Anyway, back to the mk2 cortina, lovely car and glad it got fixed for the journey home, as already said, the right place to need a replacement part!

Just a quick note to say hello. I have a 1961 100e popular which is currently a bare shell but I do have a xflow, 4 speed box, 105e back axle and mk2 Escort front suspension and steering to go back on it. I also have 7x13 Alleycats which will be fitted, that were left over from the days when I built my mk2 escort rally car..... Wish I still had that! Anyway, as you have probably already guessed I have a bit of a problem......I am a true petrol head and love old fords, so while I have been on the Retro Rides forum and the 100e forum for sometime, I really must apologise for not joining OSF sooner. Anyway, that's enough from me, I will start a build thread on my car soon, but progress isn't that quick at present! Regards, Rich.
