I've got my V8 Capri project for sale in Australia but not had much interest as you cannot get them registered anymore with the modifications. I'm now looking at importing the car back to the UK where I'm spending most of my time. As a result I'll be breaking the project for parts, selling the running gear separately to the shell and keeping a few parts for my other Capri. Price for the Engine, 302 Windsor, T5 gearbox and complete differential, axles Etc will be £2950. This is basically to recover my shipping cost so can't go any lower and to be honest from the prices I've seen here, you couldn't do much better. Car will arrive around August/September time unless prior sold in Australia. I'm located in Derbyshire just off the M1. PM for my contact details. Leaving for Australia on Tuesday, back late May but online throughout.

South African Imported MK1 Cortina GT registration
whooliganUK replied to stobbsy's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
I just imported my GT v6 Capri from Australia and the importer used a private vehicle inspector to check all the numbers so it matched the description on the paperwork. It was pretty straight forward in the end, few photos of the car taken and I got the paperwork sent to me a week or so later. -
I have 3 Capris, 2 Escort vans and an aussie 4dr Rs2000....If I can't sell them in Australia, they will be coming over here.

Most brits actually come back eventually when they realise it's not much like Neighbours and Home and Away. I've got another 6 cars over there, Escorts Etc. Interested?

I'm just going to turn up, not a big club person anymore as too many pedantic people telling me what's wrong with my car.

Moved back to the UK after living in Australia for near on 40 years....Great place but new opportunities brought me back and loving the "improved" weather that climate change has brought with it. Managed to ship one on my collection out with me so far, my Aussie GT V6 Capri. Can't wait to get it out again as it's been laid up in storage since 2015. Re-commissioned before shipping it out with a test run of 950 miles to Canberra from Melbourne and back before 5 months in a boat and garage waiting for the UK registration process. Will be out for the Classic Ford Show in June so come over and say G'day.

Aussie 4dr RS2000 project
whooliganUK replied to whooliganUK's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CARS FOR SALE
They only sold 2400 RS2000s in Australia. Numbers of 4 door cars were about the same as 2drs but many of the 2dr cars were thrashed and crashed so generally the 4drs are more common and in better condition if unrestored. The 2dr cars are always the one people want. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk -
Aussie 4dr RS2000 project
whooliganUK replied to whooliganUK's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CARS FOR SALE
I might still bring it out and restore it for myself. I could never afford a local RS2000 and it's mechanically (minus a few bits) the same car which is all I care about. Good to get some feedback though. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk -
I have a rare 4dr RS2000 back in Australia that I am planning on shipping back to the UK. By the time it lands it will owe me about £5000. Needs a total restoration but is complete so no chasing of parts will be required other than normal repair sections. Just gauging interest as to the viability to ship or may end up selling in Australia. Would just be looking to get back my costs so could be a cheap and unique RS project for someone in the UK (I only know of 2 Aussie RS2000s in the UK) Not too fussed if it sells or not but interested in thoughts of other forum members. More pics on request. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

I am finally back in the UK and have a postal address in Derbyshire. Over the last 8-9 weeks it looks as though there is more demand for parts in the country than in Australia it seems. Having said this, I am probably looking at bringing out my stocks of parts out here over the next year. The first shipments will start in October when I ship my Mk 1 Escort Van. If you are struggling to get good 2nd hand parts it might pay to drop me a message with a list of stuff you are chasing and a contact number. I am building a bit of a database with names and numbers of people restoring cars. Hopefully having this list will allow me to deal directly with buyers direct rather than to have to go thru eBay and Retards Club and the like to advertise parts as I locate them. PM for more details or search me on Retards Club pintopunter UK Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

THIS IS WHAT AN ESCORT SHOULD LOOK LIKE
whooliganUK replied to RWL81P's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CARS FOR SALE
I've only been on this site for a few days but it's interesting to get a perspective into other folks opinions. Comparing it to where I have come from (Australia) it's a bit of an eye-opener into "what's the done thing." I'm of the school of thought where it's all or nothing. Completely standards or flat out bonkers. Things start to look wrong if it's 1/2 way between one and the other. Here's my Mk 1 van compared to my track day Capri. Intentions are obvious. I have a 20ft shipping container full of parts that I have collected over the last 20 years in Australia. Most of the parts are surplus from various projects. I was planning on selling them off in Australia when I get back there in February but after reading a few ads and checking out some of the prices people are asking, I am seriously thinking of shipping the lot out here to sell. If anyone is chasing any parts and are struggle to find them, send me a PM and I will try and help out. I can't check if I have exactly what you want until February but if you leave some contact details in the message, I will get back to you when I can. Cheers GLENN Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

NEW FORD ESCORT MK1 SALOON REAR LIGHTS.
whooliganUK replied to caprimk1v4's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD PARTS FOR SALE
£800!!! Seriously? Do you people realise you can buy reproduction lens for under 50 quid and a bottle of polish for £5.....No one (other than a complete anarak) will ever know. It's a Ford not a Ferrari. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk -
I see on local eBay you can pick them up for about £10k.....Seriously, that's cheap. V8 Holdens are highly collectable in Australia. There is no way you would get one for that in Australia and then be able to import it for less....Maybe a high mileage 6 cylinder but they are rare. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

I have a mate with a couple of the last V8 Holdens produced but there is a bit of a queue forming to buy those when the price is right. Now that the automotive industry is pretty much over in Oz the barns are starting to fill up with all sorts of Aussie legends of the future. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Hi Justin. The plan has been in the pipeline for a few years now and I have established a few contacts already. A whole bunch of us are catching up at Goodwood for a bit of a get together so exciting times ahead. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

Yes the van is pretty solid but the make-over will have to wait for a while. I have a house to renovate before that (which will be my main form of income) I have another van (mk2) which is even better in Australia...I am partial to them....with the works 2lt, 5spd, LSD, Etc Projects are not something I am short of. I have 3 Capris back in Oz as well as a 4dr RS2000. I'm renting a factory with a mate and his collection of Capris is even better....Some of which will be for sale next year. To be honest, the weather has never bothered me in all the times I have visited (both summer and winter). An Aussie summer is horrendous. You can't do anything because it's either frying you to a crisp or pissing down.....it ain't like neighbours or home and away in Melbourne where I am from. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
