Hello Everyone, I know this is an old thread, but I just came across it. Back when this was active, I had the same questions about 3D printing as DT36. Since then, I’ve been working as a mechanical design engineer, and in my free time, I’ve developed a number of 3D-printed parts. I use my own printer for prototyping, but I outsource the final prints to a company that uses large, industrial-grade SLA printers. The surface finish is very close to that of molded OEM parts. Hello! My name is Vasilis. I'm the owner of a MK1 ford escort that i have owned for 18 years, since i was 17. i have restored it twice as it caught on fire the first time. it now has a 2l zetec, an rx8 6speed gearbox, rx7 brakes, and other period correct parts :P. i also own a ford anglia, an xr3i , and a MK3 mondeo ST diesel. I work as a mechanical design engineer, and i am spending my free time designing parts for classic car.
