  1. ha!
  2. yeah that's the only part i can seem to find... the issue i'm raising is that, aside from companies such as expressed panels, no one makes pattern replacement rear panels for the mk2, but they do for the mk1. that tiny valence panel that antz found is as much as you can get in terms of a fabrication rear mk2 panel.
  3. Why do none of the cheaper companies such as Hadrian make these panels? There are plenty of mk1 rear panels around but you can only seem to get the rear valence for the mk2....weird! Pisses me right off it does!
  4. The 2.0 pinto for my mk2 came out of a granada hearse!
  5. I'll be fine with my 2 door as I have no mates.
  6. This is the 4 door, but it will be making way for the 2 door once it's finished!
  7. Just initiated brain, and it's probably from mud etc thrown up from the wheels on the inner wings that cause it to rot from the outside of the inner wing inwards...?
  8. definitely. my mk2 was (and still is if i'm honest) worse than yours, and it's definitely worth repairing! The only bits that surprised me on your mk1 is the strut tops...do they usually go like that, i've never seen it before... what causes it?
  9. I remember seeing the thread about that car, and I remember seeing it for sale in an advert placed by the well known seller of classic fords. Don't all their cars come with 12 months MOT and tax? Best of luck with the build...
  10. Is there even much of a difference between standard and rs? I personally would not spend that much on a centre console (my mk2 one cost me £15 - non RS!)...but one way of looking at it is... If that is the last piece you need to complete your totally original mexico, you aren't just paying for the console, you're paying £x to get a totally completed car...
  11. Apply filler, sand down, apply filler, sand down...apply too much filler....sand too much down.... AAAAAGH!
  12. if it was me i'd lose the stripes and the spoiler! i think mk2's look good with the spoiler, but better without, especially if they're nice and low.
  13. I was going to use a 1600 xflow in my mk2 until i accidentally won a pinto on ebay for £23... I'd say go for pinto. More torque innit!
  14. Cheers chaps
  15. Is there a simple way to work out what ratio a diff has? I have a few lying around and I'm hoping one is a 3.54...

  22. Shotblasting cost me £250, that included the bloke picking it up, bringing it back and primering it... very good price in my opinion. Dipping it is a lot more expensive i think, but I don't have any knowledge on which is better. Although I dislike the aformentioned spunk sludge, I'm prepared to put up with it, as I'd rather spend a little time with a hose gaffa-taped to a hoover sucking up all the sludge than hours and hours sanding the bastard down!
  23. When you mix the bits of sand (which gets everywhere) with the oil it turns into Satan's Spunk Sludge...all in the sills...sticks to everything...yuk!
