The filler you have is fine as is the paint but you need some finer grades of sand paper for example you need the following to make a nice job of it:
60 grit to knock the worst of the filler back
80 grit
120
180
240
320
400
600
800
1000
1200 This is used to wet flat down the primer before you put the top coat on.
You start with the lowest and end up on 1000 before putting primer on this way you wont see any rubbing down marks in the top coat
You will also need some things called tack rags to wipe the panel clean before you put any primer/top coat onto it.You will need to tack rag the surface before priming and then before the top coat.
Another thing that would be useful is fine surface filler which is used to fill tiny pin holes that show up once its been primed this can be put on vry smoothly left for about 1 hour to dry and then flatted down with 1200 before you wet flat the primer.
