ey up Mr Sprocket! Thanks again for ya kind words about my car both on ere + elsewhere. Can't believe you sold ya mk1 though. Only just finished too after a lengthy resto.. Must admit, I'd been after building a 4 door mk2 for a quite a while. At the time, I had a perfectly good 2 door that I could have built up! (now belongs to Yeomans22). I just had to have a 4door though and preferably a ghia. There where a couple of "funky four doors" that had me inspired this very time last year. (& prob a while before too) A visit to CF 08 and some more inspiration confirmed my desicion to get me 4doors in an Escort shape. On the way back from that very event, I dropped by at "Terry Turnovers" gaff to view his silver 16 ghia which was for sale on the bay of e, and ending that very evening. Needless to say, there was a silver silver 16 ghia sat on my driveway @ 9am the following morning! selling the mk1 was a difficult decision but i will be able to buy and build a nice 4 door (like yours). to be honest its like ive created a monster its just not practical enough, can't do long journeys (20 miles is enough), can't do motorways, it still needs jobs to be perfect (££££) and i've got what i wanted for it just need to find a nice ghia now sell me yours

ey up mick, you know how i feel about your motor, its the inspiration for this post and my choice of motor, the mk1 is sold so im on the hunt for a 4 door

cheers, ill check that out later, ebays banned from work as for the whole more door 4 door thing... i couldn't give a monkeys, have a look at mick the cabbies ghia, better than most of the 2 doors on here and i've always said how right yours looked i want to build one that looks like a ghia but goes like a... well something quite fast im just joking about the 4 doors mate to be honest, im past caring weather its got 4, 2, estate or even a 4 door welded up to look like a 2. its still the same car ...(sometimes i regret ever mentioned the 2 versus 4 argument as all it does is give me endless grief, even now) the whole idea of mine is that it looks like a ghia, has the standard interior, the fat ghia steels and hopfully a better engine under the bonnet to make it go faster than a ghia STREET SLEEPER BABY! were on the same page im thinking it will be good fun destroying the modern stuff more in a 'non sports model'
