Anyone know who was selling the pair of blue buckets at Ford Fair. I seem to remember seeing them on the floor at the front of the OSF stand somewhere near a very tidy rally-spec yellow mk2. If they're still for sale, I could be interested.
What a great sight the stand was that day, better than 25 identical Focus RS's.
Bogg Bros are the boys. Took my 2ltr Capri to them just before Ford Fair. They ran it up on the rollers, balanced and re-jetted my YZF carbs and ran it up again. Found another 10ish BHP for me for the princely sum of £70. Result I thought.
Any ideas where my mate can get a filler neck seal from. His car's a 1969 mk1 Escort. He said something about 2 types, one with 3 holes, one with none. He needs the one with none. Any help would be appreciated. Possible collection from Ford Fair.
Just been to see the guy painting my Capri. It's all in white primer now, I've never seen it look so straight! Very excited. However. I'd asked him to colour match the rear spoiler which is the original Ford black spongey thing. Originally he said he could do it with some kind of additive but now he appears to have cold feet about it. Anyone out there had previous experience with painting these????
Wow. I feel like a Johnny cum lately Fad follower now. I wish my bike carb conversion had been cheap, but I'm well into £350ish now with filters and manifold etc.
If it's a daily driver, bike carbs are a good option. Just fitted a set of YZF1000 41mm to my 2ltr pinto on a Bogg bros manifold. Haven't had it rolling roaded yet but first impressions are silky smooth running at all revs, at all times. I'm looking forward to seeing a power figure on the dyno.
I've fitted a fan from a mid-90s civic on my Capri. Fits infront of the rad and runs off a fiesta fan switch in the top hose. Seems to work ok, you can leave it ticking over as long as you like and the fan will switch on and off as required without boiling up. Only cost about a tenner
As far as I know, the block won't make any difference to bhp although some are better than others if you want to bore it out, to be a 2.1 for example. The majority of articles I've read in CF and on the net etc, guys go for the 205.
Capri with 2ltr Pinto.
On original 32/36 Weber ran great, tried a 38Dgas and it always started but was rough as a builders whatever. Now it's on 40mm bike carbs and as smooth as 'me birds' 2ltr Focus.....but faster, ha!
Hope I'm not telling tales out of school but...I bought a set of Superlites from Midland wheels and the lacquer started to discolour and pitt within a few months( not used in winter!). When I brought this to their attention, let's just say, not nice people
Nice one, thanks for the link.
I've had a look and it looks like I just need my name putting down. I've already bought tickets when I was at the Classic Ford show last month.
What do I do on the day, just turn up and barge thru???
Hi,
Is there an OSF club stand at the Ford Fair? Fingers crossed my Capri will be ready in time and I'd be happy to bolster the numbers of the stand rather than drive it 120miles down the M1 to park it in a car park!
