  1. hi all has any one cut there front coil spring down to make them lower , and if so did they work ok and was there any problems when the car was taken for its mot thanks white_van_man
  2. thanks for the info , i asked old ford and there said they just drill small holes in the spring cups and wire them up with trying wire so that what i have done hope the mot mans in a good mood when i take it thanks again white_van_man
  3. hi all i have some capri struts on my 100e with standed spring and they are to high , so i have got some capri -2 inch springs , now my problem is the springs are to short for the strut by about half an inch , i have been told to wire them up so i have done this and they look crap , has any one got a better idear of how two sort this problem out thanks white_van_man
  4. thanks for the info , i fitted then both to try them out again one just jams the engine solid and the othere just makes a grinding noise, so i think i will have to change the fly wheel over or get a pre-engeged starter motor and try thanks again
  5. can someone tell me if a inertia starter motor will work on a pre-engaged starter motor ring gear ( fly wheel ) its for a 1600 ohc capri engine , because i have 2 intertia ones for a 1600 ohc and one will not ingage the fly wheel and the othere just jams thanks
  6. i got some for my 100e from old ford autos and they fitted great and look very good , am very happy with them

  8. it looks like you need to turn the power up on the mig to get the weld to flow more rather than sit on top of the metal i see what you mean welded it again with more power and got the weld to flow but i still have drips here are there , i think i will start again on my other sump as this one has more weld on it then the car and i have started to blow holes in it , i think brazeing it would be better but i dont have one thanks for every bodys help
  9. hi all i cut and welded my sump and it leaks on the welds would any one know of some think i could use to stop the leaks thanks

  11. well done Noodles the white ones with the big rubber from the othere mounts are the some size as rs 2000 mounts , they are ford and from a mk2 1977 escort but thats all i know

  14. hi just been on the old ford web site and it says Replica Rs & Mexico Engine Mounts for the swop so are any of the mounts for a mexico or are rs and mexico the same thanks
  15. thanks all for the info , i got them from ebay they said rs 2000 mounts and they where very cheap , oh bottom back to the drawing board
