When i first passed my test at 17 an insurace company wanted £3000 to insure my mk2 escort, it was completely standard with no mods and a 1300 engine Needless to say i told them where to go

Been having trouble with fitting my headlights now for a long time! I was given brand new headlights for my birthday but there not a ford brand. I know some people have golf headlights in there mk2's so was wondering how they are fitted? I did manage to get them in but they sit too far back, any ideas would be much appreciated

Was going to post something up like this unitl i read your post! My girlfriends pop keeps playing up too, basically we drove it all the way back from essex the other night (around eighty miles) fine without no problems, pull into my drive turn it off for a couple of minutes then start it go to drive off and it cuts out. So we tucked it in for the night and left it till the next day. The next morning starts up fine and drives for about 10 miles and cuts out, we left it for ten minutes and tried it again and it fired up and drove home no problem. This happens every time we take it out and im thinking its the manual fuel pump. Anyone had this problem on the old side valve engines?

Cheeky!! You should Jeff - I am considering (but will probably never have the time) building a lightweight Cortina. I think with enough effort the Maltese crossflow could be got close to with their 12.1 - Joe Little should be the 1st to the 11's with his proper drag prepared car - which would be great to see Deffo build a light wieght cortina, you would be running so much quicker with your monster pre cross , and jeff the all steel crossflow.............. wonder what that would go like

Yea the bloke basically does what we do to osf's to lorries, restore's, paints, builds. Picking it up tonight so might get a few pics of his projects too.

I cant see the video but from peoples comments looks like you handled it well. Was it comming out of the burnout or half way up the track?

Yea i suppose but the modifications are being made because i felt very unsafe when travelling around a corner, it felt like the car was going to topple over , very unsafe plus the brakes were just as bad and there are no seatbelts! I dont think id feel good letting with my girlfriend drive it around like that. Thanks for your comments

As some of you might know ive been looking for suspension bits for a 100e and here's why Its been stored away in a barn for 18 years and has very low milage to go with a very rot free shell. The plans for it are a hot 1300 crossflow, escort rack and pinion, 105e axle etc, etc a nice gunmetal grey sprayjob and lotus steels along with it. It was bought for 1250
