that sebring red is so nice looking.... how to decide?? thanks for the responses even tho i started out thinking about a few colours now there is 6 or so possibilities now!lol but keep firing away with the pics cant wait to get mine out when i get it sorted have only drive it up and down the lane at my house havent even been on a road yet... will be a change from the focus id imagine!

cheers lads! when i got the car all intentions of white fell in live with that white one.. then thought i would keep it original.. red! which does look good, that yellow one too is lush tho!... anyone ever sprayed one imperial blue? could be interesting!

just starting to think of painting my mk1 escort soon got it all stripped and ready to prep! just still having doubts about what colour!! can anyone point me to a thread with different colours of mk1s im thinkin red with a white mex stripe.. cheers

yea its a 1970 escort, got a new alternator today in work, they where chucking loads of old stock out and i found it, think there is also a few pinto ones and cortina ones i will need to take on monday too, not bad for nothin and also got a new starter... bargain lol

anyone any good links for a guide on how to convert dynamo to an alternator, i thought i seen before on an rs2000 sith or avo site with a good guide to doing different bits and pieces like that, but cant find it anymore. many thanks michael!

what struts are the best to put in a mark one to convert it to discs is it just early cortina ones and capri? trying to get this project started, also pondering over engines.. it currently has a 1.3 x-flow might keep this for a bit but for future want it to be a fast road/ rally spec, without spending an absolute fortune what would be better a 1600 x-flow bored out withs cams etc or a 2l pinto with the same sort of work work? i know its a bit vague but what are the typical sort of 0-60s on these.. or other words whats going to be more fun?

hey just a quick one for a bit of advice, the girlfriends 1994 mini had a new alternator about 3 months ago and the battery went dead at the weekend so stuck a new battery in it went dead again there tonight any ideas? ps still have to get photos of the mk1 esc up soon wasnt to much hastle gettin it registered from malta

good news first of all picket up my mk1 escort today and trailered it home , niced it has no plug leads tho, so got new plugs leads etc.. but does any one have any idea what way to connect these up/ the firing pattern of a 103 crossflow?? cheers

just want it for a fast road car setup. but might be worth looking in to.. prob make the car a bit more useable.. whats the sort of cheapest decent 5 speed to go for that will fit a crossflow without to much bother

am i right by saying that a type 2 comes standard in most standard mk1 1300? if so will that box fit to a 1.6 x-flow... just wondering if its worth my while to buy a quaife gearkit?

right tomoro i may be buying a mk1 escort from malta, its only just arrived in the country and i need to just clarify getting the documents, it comes with the malta log book, so is all i need to do is send of the v62 "Application for a vehicle registration document application" and there arrives a new log book and its still tax exempt? then declare it sorn till i get the work sorted? is it alll that simple and is there anything i should watch out for before i get hit with a fine or get the car lifted lol sorry for being stupid just would like to clear this all up. thanks

whats my options for getting it on the road, do i need an old tax book? if so how much roughly would this cost... or do you get the car re registered? cheers

cheers.. i know it needs a good bit of work like, but least that lets me make it into what ever i want to my spec.. i will try and get a few photos of it, offered him 1550 for it, so have to see if he gets back to me, see im in northern ireland and its hard to find any over here but anyone knows of anything else for under £3500 could you give me a shout? so tempted to just give him what he wants for it , seen it and just want to get to work on it!! Thanks

hasent been on the road since 2006 or something like that, all drive train is there and all looks ok but der say it will need brakes/pipes etc looked at.. dono if a could get it a but lower it would be good.. was thinkin about £1500

Right went and had a look, checked out most bits looks ok not so much rust just wee bits needs patched up , only things a could spot which concerned me was the wings dont sit just right and doors sit out at the bottom about 3/4 of an inch, which may be because there looks like someone has put on new outer sills and done a crap job.. and there has been a sunroof set in it. anyway doesnt come with an engine but most other stuff, needs still a fair bit of work.. its a 1972 1300 3 door.. what would yous think? and what do you think it would be worth? cheers guys
