the car is in a field near n .corwall near the sea.i guess the salt air has got to it. the car was taken off the road about 20 years ago and has been in the field most of them.

SO TODAY WE WENT TO HAVE A LOOK AND I WAS HOPING THAT IT WAS SALVAGEABLE, BUT THIS IS WHAT I FOUND

i had been trying to buy the car since 1995. i was still trying when it was in the unit you mentioned. i didnt get hold of it until august 2007. i have been working on it on and off since then. twin cam has been temp replaced with 1660 x flow as twin cam stripped for rebuild will be back in asap after rebuild so its not a proper RS1600 ? the car is a proper avo car with rs1600 chassis no and avo build plates stating rs1600 and is registered with the avo club the bda engine appears to have been replaced in the early 80/s. thats all the history i have at the moment.

just thought i would show you i picture of my mk 1 rs1600. it was taken off the road in 1990 and it has taken me 15 years to get my mate to sell it to me, and a further 18 months to get it on the road. i will be doing a complete restoration in a couple of years but just wanted to geet it on the road to have a bit of fun before all the hard work starts [/img]http://
