  1. Hi, I am after a 3.09 diff (atlas) for v6 Capri Shaun
  2. Sorry Malcolm, Anglia club run that day which I've already agreed to go on, also there is Retro Rides meet at Brean Sands, somerset as well
  3. There should not be a problem with letting Next Generation Old Skool Fords onto the the forum and having their own sections, after all there are quite a few people on this forum with donor engines etc from later models (i.e. Cosworth engines EFI pinto's and even the Zetec from even newer models), do we start restricting these owners too because their cars are not within the spirit of old skool!!!, and also what about non ford engined conversions, i.e. Vauxhall redtop and Toyota engines do we ban these all together!!!. When I have arranged meets ups in the past I have always opened it up to the local RS Clubs and other Ford Clubs in the area. I mean after all what harm would come of it, you are not being held at gun point to own or drive one, these cars have their place within Ford's history they might not be what you like but I expect that some people that own newer cars might not like older ones. I really don't think we will be over run with Mk3 Escort and Sierra owners, as the tin worm has claimed a lot of them (Ford did not seem to use their best quality metal in the 80's), and a lot of the Cosworth Sierra's either had their engines liberated for use in older cars or ended up in the crusher due to losing arguments with trees etc. Don't fear change, embrace it, if we didn't change once in a while we would still be living in caves banging rocks together. I'll stop now rant over.
  4. Just to let you all know the show has now been cancelled both days
  5. They are still planning to be open on Sunday: See website for updates http://www.powderhamclassiccarshow.info/
  6. Powderham has been closed for the public today they are hoping for it to be open on Sunday, I have just spoken to someone on the field and the lane into the show is quite waterlogged
  7. After arranging several successful meets myself at KMJ in Exeter (2 of which were featured in magazines) and seeing how that dropped off. and seeing how Route38 organised by Mrs Leadfoot went the same way, there just seems to be a total apathy in this area to these events, I have tried to change venues and even arrange a run which only 2 cars turned up for!!. I think it is time for someone else to have a go. I put this up as a suggestion to gain interest but seeing as only a few people showed any interest whatsoever this somewhat proves the point. JamesG seems quite keen I will happily give him any support if he wants to arrange something???
  8. There does not seem to be that much interest in this so I don't think it is worth bothering with
  9. Right, From the replies I have already have I think a Sunday morning meet will be the best way forward. however I would like to see if any body else might be interested in coming along. I am probably looking to arranging this for the late May early June. If there isnt any more interest then it is probaly not worth while going ahead with Regards, Shaun
  10. Hi all, I am thinking of arranging another meet this time at the new Route 303 Diner (owned by the same people who run Route 38), it is located between Honiton & Ilminster on the A303 a couple of miles from the Devon/Somerset border (about 28 miles east of Exeter) I still have not finalised the date but am looking for some feedback as to weather to run it on an evening or on a Saturday/ Sunday. If anyone is interested please let me know
  11. James, Feel free to grab the bull by the horns, we might do something at a later date, a lot of work however for no reward, but be prepared for people moaning , (see previous post on this thread), also venues are difficult to find without potential police issues that is why we did it at KMJ where we had no problems. regards and good luck, Shaun
  12. Restore a rolling 30 year-old exemption to VED, for classic vehicles Responsible department: Her Majesty's Treasury Re-introduce a 30 year rolling vehicle excise duty exemption scheme, for classic vehicles. For too long now the tax exemption of classic cars has been frozen, to only apply to those manufactured before 1973. History did not simply stop in 1972. These are not cars which are driven everyday but rather on sunny weekends, to attend enthusiast shows etc.. It is vitally important that we help to preserve this important part of British motoring history. link: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/183
  13. Due to the complete lack of support for the meet we did last time and the expense of arranging for a BBQ and putting on a run that only 3 cars went on, we have decided that we would not put on anything at this time, we might look at doing something next year, if anyone else wants to arrange something please feel free.
  14. If anyone does wish to go to Haynes on Sunday some of us will be leaving Exeter motorway services at 10 AM meeting at the top of the car park near the petrol station
  15. Don' forget this weekend meet & run in Exeter, I am suprised at the lack of interest though
