Apart from the torrential downpour from 1pm until we got home this was a great event. Lorraine won the 1600 class by over 2 minutes, martin was 3rd in 2litre class and after some technical issues (spat rotor arm and dizzy cap off in mid stage) Walt manged 13th in 2 litre class. Loads of mk1 and 2 escorts including some in the hrcr championship. Also had a laugh watching the guys in the tr7 V8`s try to get the power down on streaming wet concrete.

Just a heads up for anyone within reach of york, there is a single venue rally at Melbourne Airfield (York Dragway) on Sunday 13th May. There will be a right mix of cars from scoobies to skodas but there will be loads of MK1 and MK2 escorts including 2 mk2 with 16v vaux power and MK1 with a 190bhp 1600 16v vaux engine run by some of my mates in huddersfield motor club.

Just got back from marshalling on the Pirelli. I was on stage 3 (the valley) in Kershope forest. Absolutely magnificent watching all those MK1 and MK2s broadside round my bend. Also good to see all the Lotus cortinas going well. The highlight for me was watching Jimmy McRae in the MK2, the man is still a god, he was as fast as anyone past me (including the 4wd boys).
