alot of ppl say the closer to the engine this filter is the beta, but defo keep a filter think of the crap in fuel lately, filters can help save engine!!!!!!!!!!!!

it shouldnt make a big diferent wouldnt cause a misfire and u can tell if its misfiring or jus lacking. is the manifold that broke got any blockage or build up as that would cause problem as the gases wont escape and its trying to stall the engine. maybe why it finally gave up and spilt nice and neat.

i got my mates retro ford mag which shows where to move the gear stick hole ect to fit a 5 speed c if i can scan it and post it up for ya.

not a big fan of the 24v cossie cos they get a lot of electrical faults and stop the engine from starting. something lik v6 col would be a better way to look at it.

i would braze over the outside weld then use timing cover sealant and seem the inside as the sealant is designed for high tempertures. u can get it from ford and the part number is F1217470. its only a small tube but pukka stuff.
