I havd decided to offer my mk2 escort for sale. I built it about 5-6 years ago as a road legal trackday car and has been a lot of fun. Unfortunately due to new projects it has to go. More pics to follow.
Engine/gearbox
Chassis mounted 2.0 Vauxhall C20xe on weber 45s and mbe ignition. Mike Edwards custom stainless exhaust manifold. Mapped and set up at HT racing making 225bhp.
5 speed tran x straight cut type 9 gearbox and English axle with 4.1 plate diff.
Shell
Shell is seam welded throughout with reinforced front bulk head for stiffness. Large gearbox and diff tunnels and the rear is 5 linked with round turrets.
Bolt in cage that picks up front and rear turrets and tied in to A and B posts.
12 gallon aluminium fuel tank and filler in the boot.
It has full glass and all steel panels apart from the bonnet that is fibreglass.
Suspension
Front legs are bilstein rebuilt by IG racing with his superior oil and valved for the car. On adjustable tca’s and modified roll bar.
Rear are adjustable Gaz coilovers
Brakes
Bias pedal box with Caprisport front set up with 260mm vented discs. Fiesta front calipers on the rear.
Interior
Corbeau pro series seats with Luke harnesses and removable Omp suede steering wheel. Ali door cards.
It’s a good tidy usable car that could probably be easily converted to a clubman rally car. Although pictured with no number plates it is fully road legal and registered in my name and currently not mot’d but can be for a buyer.

I have looked at the pics of the improved circuit on the MSV website and it looks amazing. Its a bit of a trek for me but would be worth it if we can fill it with old skool
I watched the first hour or so and the white 3 door was very impressive. Chatted to the owner breifly, who was a nice fella, and its obviously a serious car with a lot of effort put into developing it.
I hope his damage is not too bad!
considering how much we all like a bit of sideways action there doesnt seem to be much talk of drifting with old fords. maybe all that japanese puts people off!
good to see mr morley getting involved and hopefully encouraging a few others. im gonna have a go in my xe powered mk2 escort at a DWYB at santa pod in the next couple of months. its a shame theres not more venues in the south east.
