  1. Can anyone who raced Hot Rods back in the seventies tell me if they used to weld the diffs ? Is a fully locked diff at any disadvantage over LSD ? When i was a kid we used to weld up the diff on an Imp we had to race on the fields and it never failed - even after several years use . Would welding a diff be a viable alternative to a LSD ? Regards AL.
  2. Dean , I was at the meeting , saw your car - looked very nice , great to see it on the parade lap for the Classic Hot Rods . Sorry I didn't get to say hello , I went to chat with the drivers as I'm going to race next season in Classic Hot Rods , you weren't with your car when I saw it and I was talking to one of the drivers as you entered the pits before the parade lap . Well done though , a lovely car - pity it's not racing . Regards AL.
  3. I was surprised how small the show was , I've probably been spoilt by shows like Beltring ( Military Vehicles ) which you literally cannot get round the stalls in a day , or Land Rover only autojumbles like the twice yearly " Old Sodbury sortouts " which are huge . I was disapointed with the Autojumble , both the size and range of parts . I was after several items for a racing project - didn't find any , I was expecting a much wider range of traders as well . I had a good day , took one of my nephews , but i wouldn't think it would be worth a 2 day event unless there's more to see and do . Regards AL.
  4. Not a Capri , by any chance ?
  5. Anyone who's really good at this dark art , I need help . I'm shortly going to be starting a racing project and would like someone to help with what i would think is quite difficult photoshop stuff . I would like to have a picture of the car with the correct wheels , arches , paint , and sign writing , possibly in a few varied paint schemes . I could build this car and try a few paint schemes in less time than i could try to do it in paint shop - but it would be expensive ! I'm willing to pay someone to do it . But i would like to get it done off the forum if possible , as I don't want to give away what it is yet . I could supply the pictures of the car , wheels etc . But it won't be the actual car , as I'll be starting with a rolling shell . Anyone fancy a challenge ? I might need the finished article to show a potential sponser what their logo would look like on the car .
  6. Dean , Very nice , it would have been nice to see it race in Classic Hot rods . Who did your signwriting ? - I'm trying to find a " proper " sign writer ( not Vinyl ) for a Classic Hot Rod project . Regards AL.
