  1. We've got a stay of execution for the above mentioned site - till the end of the month . If you visit the site please log in - if your a fan of the Classics , as unless we get more visitors we'll lose this site , this a much more accessible site than the original Classics one . Regards Al.
  2. The site mentioned above is closing shortly due to lack of hits . But the original Classics website is now running again , i'll post the new address shortly . regards Al.
  3. Why , when I wrote the correct name for the people who put the website up - did it come up with Sesame Street ? I know i'm not clever enough to use predictive text , but that's rediculous . Al
  4. The Classics site is disabled at the moment , but the one set up by the kind souls at 105speed is alive and well . http://classichotrods.hyperboards.com Regards Al.
  5. OK , cheers for that - i'll check the adverts . Regards AL
  6. I did have a number of someone who made body roll over jigs , i think in the Lincolnshire area - but i can't find it - Anyone know of anyone who makes them , i think he supplied them in kit form and you had to weld them up . Regards Al.
  7. I appreciate that you cover the Classic Hot Rods with race reports , Have you considered doing an article about how to go racing and what's involved ? many people probably don't realise how accessible the formula is . Regards AL.
  8. Thanks very much for that , I'm building a Classic Hot Rod ( actually two ) so would love to see the videos/dvds - the good old days when you could watch Hot Rods on World of Sport on a Saturday afternoon . Many thanks Regards AL.
  9. Dean , Liked the article in Classic Ford , pity they didn't put a picture of your dad's car in it though - well done for getting the Classic's a mention . Regards AL.
  10. Are there any videos of Hot Rods of this era available anywhere ? Regards AL.
  11. I'd like to point out that what was " quoted " above , wasn't what I said at all . I don't know how to put up pictures here , so i won't be able to supply anything suitable . Thanks anyway to wessie , tazroc & Rick .
  12. Thanks Rick , are the hot rod pics ( see under the original request - Classic hot rod colour scheme s ) not high enough resolution ? As I said I really have no idea about . As for over-head-cam's reply , who said I was moaning , there's a big difference between being disapointed and moaning , but i note that you list your age as 5 . Regards AL.
  13. Is there anywhere I can get photoshop done professionally ? I'd like to get some pictures done and as only one person tried to do my request on here , i was wondering if it's the sort of thing you could get done professionally , who could do it and what would it cost ? Any ideas ? see below under my previous entry for the type of thing I was after .
  14. No takers then ? only tazrock . Very disapointing .
  15. Anyone else fancy having a go ? I appreciate the time / work involved - I thought that using another Hot rod pic as a base would make things easier , is the Sign writing etc too difficult ? Any help much appreciated . Regards AL.
  16. That's pretty good , I was thinking more white - but I quite like that , It's going to be metalflake ( the red & blue ) I know it's alot of work and it'll get damaged quite often - but I can't resist it . The way Polley's car has the white at the front and over the roof was what I was thinking ( but in blue , so the rest of the bonnet / roof / boot - would be white each side )- but now I'm not sure . Many thanks for that , it's much appreciated . If anyone else has any other variations on the theme , please have a go , like I said - I haven't decided on the paint scheme yet , so it could be one suggested on here . Thanks again . Regards AL.
  17. I've tried myself , and to be honest , it looks like a five year old's done it . I've no idea how anyone gets the kind of results i've seen on here - so you have my admiration , also as it takes so long to do i'm amazed that there are people out there willing to do it for other people . I think i really will get the crayons out now - i think that's about my skill level . Regards AL.
  18. Cheers for that Wessie , if anyone fancies having a go , could you try using either the 306 , 23 , 516 or 33 car as a base - the 333 car is very nice but I don't think the front end looks very period and we're not allowed to run wings like the 66 car . Any red / white & blue variation or maybe some black & white checks ? Any suggestions on colours welcome . Thanks again . Regards AL.
  19. Right , absolutley no idea how to do that - you have to understand that I only know enough about computers to really cock them up ! I did read the bit under FAQ's - but really none the wiser , I could build and paint this car quicker than I could figure out how this sort of thin works . I think i'll get the crayons out . Regards AL.
  20. I need some help please : I'm preparing an Anglia for Classic Hot Rod racing , can anyone help try some colour schemes ? I haven't got any pics to start from , any Anglia hot rod pic would do - I'd like to see what Red / white / blue looked like . starting with an overall white , with blue running along the centre of the boot / roof /bonnet ( along the body lines ) and coming down the front and around the grille area . Red on the lower half of the body , below the bodyline , some stars ( similar to Kevin woods anglia - see 105speed forum - gallery ) It is representing the '70's afterall , like white stars on the blue between the indicators and the radiator air intake , and a few on the red . I have no idea how you do photo shop or what you can acheive , if anyone can do the signwriting - if it's possible , I'd like to have " BERNARD FANNING RACING - COWDENBEATH " running along the top of the back wing door & front wing - in memory of my dad who died last year , and my name " AL FANNING " on the sun visor . If anyone has any good ideas on colour schemes have a go , i'd like to see them , nothings decided yet , if you come up with one i like i might use it - have a go . Regards AL.
  21. Is the autojumble any good ? Have been to few very disapointing ones this year , would like to know if anyone who regulary attends thinks it's a good one or not ? Regards AL.
  22. My brother took some pics last night and I think he has some of your car from Arena Essex , Not digital though - so I'll let you know when they're processed . Regards AL. P.S got to meet George Polley last night , talking about how he built the 111 car ( red Anglia ) . Really enjoyed the meeting .
  23. I believe he's going on to another formula next season and that car is for sale , that's only the third black flag in the classics . Thought they were very good last night , 15 cars turned up , which is the most they've had at one meeting . There are actually 20 cars now competing regulary but not all of them make it to every meeting . Hopefully if next season a few more cars are prepared - it should make a great spectacle . Well done Dean , made it onto the track as Control Car again - looked great under the floodlights . If you haven't already seen it , have a look at the Classic's own website : www.classic-hot-rods.com Regards AL.
  24. I'm going , ( going to be racing next season ) I thought Dean was going to take his Status Quo replica . Regards AL.
  25. That just about sums it up . That's exactly what I was thinking , I know Barry Lee had his salisbury LSD set up so it was almost fully locked . Regards AL.
