  1. Hi all, as the title says I'm looking for a particular Transit Mk1 LWB Van RLR 78E - Missed out when it was for sale locally & on e-bay, I now have a few surprise pennies I would like to spend so (depending on price) I'd be interested in a chat to discuss purchase. Any leads appreciated. PM/EMail is best Cheers Paul
  2. See this one. One of the guys in my local car club & he is very particular on stuff so its a good car. Felpham near Bognor Regis. Start price £1900 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181478914292?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  3. Thankyou - cant wait
  4. as above, where/when can I buy x2 please
  5. Should be at the Cranleigh Show next Sunday 18/08/13
  6. 1970 FORD CAPRI MK1 GT 3.5V8 Selling my Mk1 Capri GT V8 as I have an eye on something else. I’ve had the car since 2007 & in that time it has had virtually everything replaced or upgraded as I intended to keep it long-term. Tax Exempt – current tax disc valid until end Feb 2014 MOT current until 04/05/2014 Details: Body: Originally a June 1970 Capri Mk1 3.0GT. Good condition with no rust. Paint is excellent. Has had the roof rails removed & smoothed in. Front wings are smoothed into scuttle panel & smoothed into sill ends. Rear panel smoothed in. Dummy side vents removed. Quad headlights (RS3100 style) & steel quarter bumpers (front & rear) fitted. Front lower panel is fibreglass as is the bootlid. Duck-tail RS3100 spoiler fitted. Front wings have splash guards fitted. Boot floor has had spare wheel well removed & flat plate welded in. Battery in boot. Locks all work with separate keys for Doors, Boot, Ignition (for security). No holes etc underneath. Fully undersealed. All body mods & paint were done before I got the car & they are done to a very high standard. Cant find any filler so I assume they are metal welded in. None of the car has been ‘cut-about’ to fit the V8 so everything is tidy. Gearshift is a little further back than normal. There is a couple of small blisters on wheelarch at rear, few small scabs & chips here & there but nothing has increased in size or got worse in the 6 years I’ve owned it. Suspension: Front: Mk3 Capri struts/springs/crossmember with vented 2.8i discs & callipers, upgraded rollbar. Alloy strutbrace. Fully polybushed. No power steering (could be upgraded if you swap the crossmember). Rear: Mk1 3.0GT axle & 3.09 diff. Single leaf springs. 9” Mk1 drum brakes. Fully polybushed. Monroe Gas-Matic coilover shocks. Wheels: Newly refurbished Allycat Rallye Special 7J x 13 with matching set of Firestone Firehawk tyres. 205/60R13 with 8-9mm of tread. Polished rims, painted centres, correct centrecaps, just been fully rebalanced. Engine: Rover V8 3500cc unit (ex Rover P6) with Weber carb & K&N filter, Upgraded distributor. Twin electric fans on dashboard switch. Large capacity Rover radiator. SD1 manifolds coupled to custom Exhaust system - twin Cherry Bombs with ‘H’ pipe and side-exit. Good oil pressure. Gearbox is the correct Rover 5-speed manual with hydraulic clutch (ex SD1). Hydraulics are hidden behind the dash so much tidier. Single piece propshaft. Heavy duty engine & gearbox mounts. Filter King fuel regulator & pressure gauge in engine bay & Facet red top fuel pump in boot. Starter sometimes clicks but will start after a couple of key turns. Interior: Mk1 Capri GT 6 gauge dash (original). Whole car rewired with a Mk3 loom from bulkhead back & Rover SDI engine bay. Radio/CD fitted, speakers in doors. Original GT rear seat with armrest. Carpet & centre console from 2.8i. Recaro seats from Escort RS Turbo(?) – recline & tilt work. Sparco harness’s fitted in addition to original belts – your choice what to use. Rollcage for show only – made of metal tube but not welded in so can be removed. Heater not connected. Rev counter not connected (was going to use an aftermarket one). Speedo sometimes doesn’t work. All in, a nice example of a Mk1 with the added rumble of a V8. Turns heads wherever I go & always gets lots of interest. Fun to drive with lots of smiles per mile. As said, this was going to be a keeper but I have my eyes on something else. £7500 I will offer the buyer the following at no extra charge: 2x Rover V8 spare engines (one needing head gaskets, one needing front cover/oil pump etc). Registered correctly with DVLA on V5 as a Mk1 Capri with a 3500cc V8 engine. Always garaged. Hasn’t been out in the wet as it stays indoors on rubbish weather days. Cash on collection. I can meet you at Bognor Regis or Chichester Railway Station & give you a lift. Located near Bognor Regis, West Sussex. Postcode PO21. Sensible questions answered happily – best to e-mail as I cant get to my phone all the time. I will consider a part-ex but ONLY for a: 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 383 or 440 1969 Plymouth GTX 383 or 440 1969 Dodge Coronet Superbee - in similar condition. My car + my cash for your Plymouth/Dodge. Cheers Paul
  7. Wanted: Granada Mk1 3.0V6 bottom radiator hose please. PM or E-mail with your price including postage. Thankyou
  8. Get yourself a copy of this years calendar, I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised at the variety. Looking forward to it as Father Xmas is bringing it apparently - my fault I didnt get the Capri, Granada or Cortina pics submitted on time, deffo next year
  9. Of course, hallowed leader - just off to Retrorides for a look
  10. Still here as well, (joined OSF back in 2002 ish) but much as Mr Sumo says, boring stuff like work gets in the way ! - also like to frequent other retro forums which dont concentrate on Escrots - lol!
  11. Glad everything is sorted Stuart - just make sure the wheelnuts are the correct ones as the steel nuts are different
  12. You miss my point. We had (luckily) left before this happened. Even if we had still been there, I would have raised the same concern. Burnouts shouldnt happen anywhere near this sort of event as it is surrounded by 'Sunday Shoppers' with their children in tow & Joe Public are VERY happy to ban car clubs (remember the warnings OSF have received for 'issues' at Boxhill over the years). More to the point... Very good show, crackin' weather, top-class cars, even better people... Looking forward to the next one! Big Thankyou to the organisers!
  13. Mmmm.... First time we have been to this meeting. Very good setup & facilities, met lots of good people. Good pics. Family Fun-Day event, children & animals in attendance. Everyone happy However: - Burnouts , irresponsible driving , bits flying off cars that should have been fixed properly & could have injured a child/animal - not impressed. Stuff like this gets car clubs banned from venue's. Its not clever...........
  14. Cant be there on the 25th, but interested in future meets
  15. Can't guarantee we will be on the stand - moving house on the Friday/Saturday so things may be a little hectic Will try & get there though
