Well twas a nice sunny day yesterday so I decided I would replace the 1.6 with a 2ltr pinto bought on fleabay a few weeks ago. Old engine out, new engine in all done in around 5 hours, not bad for my first major mechanical adventure.
Anyway all connected up, water in the rad, oil in and time for the moment of truth.
click, click click
bugger engine wouldn't even start to turn over, tried rocking back and forth in gear to free it up - no joy the engine is set solid
Bit of a dumb mistake not checking that the engine even turned before attempting to fit but ho hum I'm rather proud of all the cuts and bruises I acquired during the process
