did ford make any with using a chassis with the body bolted on rather than use subframes? I know the scimitar isn't ford but uses ford engine - is there any others? mic

At the moment i own a classic mini. Since the arrival of my daughter on Wednesday ive noticed: i cant fit a rear facing baby seat i cant fit the pushchair in it its not really a 'safe' car to crash in - or be crashed in to im guessing its really not gonna be practical to fit the whole fami;y in. the wife has a zafira so its not like its the only car but the baby is still gonna come in my car from time to time so this is the final factor that seals the deal to sell the mini and buy an OSF cos i refuse to buy a boring modern day car but still want a classic i can have fun in (without baby on board!) wish i still had the mk2 escort but hey ho, live an learn. mic

whether your engine is a 1300 crossflow thru to a V8 in your ford, what kind of MPG do you get?! mic

Hi everyone! I dont own a ford at the moment but am giving it some thought as at the moment i drive a classic mini but will soon need something bigger! i had a mk2 escort a couple of years ago but sold it as i wasnt overly keen on the standard 1300cc engine it had. ive never even been in a capri before but as its a ford and has the same engine (i assume the 1600 and 2000 is a pinto?) is there much difference in a capri and an escort? cheers mic
