  1. Anyone help me out with these?
  2. Ok right i'll do it from the start using the following; Strut tops same distance apart as a mk3 capri (can anyone measure inside to inside of the thread of the shock) Bottom arms same as Mk3 capri ( Again can anyone give me the measurement for centre of ball joint to centre other side. Steering Rack same length as mk3 capri ( Again can anyone give the measurment end to end not inc track rod ends) Once that is all in place in an ideal world what ofset wheels would i need? Am heading in the right direction????
  3. Ok, so let me get this right, if i'm using escort stuff on the front i need to get this as close to standard to start with ie struts the same width apart, std bottom arms to start with to get the camber std. Then from there im going to use 8x15 wheels with an ofset of 25. From that point how do i get the wheel to sit out further? is this purely done by the width and ofset of the wheel? Also does it cause a problem that i'm using a 2.8 capri Axle and escort front? do i need to have the same front and rear?
  4. The problem i have is the inside of the wheel also hits the shock, whats the maximum size spacer that is safe to use? Sounds like you need to get new wider rims with the correct offset then? if you do a large spacer you will also need humongous studs to go with it (this is kind of reminding me what the guys on chopshop garage used to do, i personally dont like it) Also realisticaly what width rim can i run obn the front without making it handle poo?
  5. I'm pretty sure the offset of the wheel im using as a guide is a 0 ofsett the wheels i want to use are 25 offset, if spaers were an option i'd get them made so they atatch to the standard studs with countersunk nuts, then have the new studs tapped into the spacer. I would guess the spacer would need to be aprox 60mm??
  6. The problem i have is the inside of the wheel also hits the shock, whats the maximum size spacer that is safe to use?
  7. Ok so thats a capri x member out the question, i've got an 8J wheel on the front and it still sits aprox 60mm in from the outside of the arch, i'm pretty sure the offset is 0 or pretty close to that. How do people get the wheels to sit out on say a bubble arched Mk1?
  8. Basically i've now realised the wheel sits to far in on the rwd fiesta, can i make new bottom arms approx 2" longer? then extend the rack arms, and move the strut top? I know people use a capri X Member but does this bolt into the car in the same place or are the fixings further apart to?
  9. lee, Give luke a bell at heron work wear 07715 102660 he does all the sign writting for peter thurston and a few of the rallycross boys.
  10. I'm after fixed buckets, i've seen some on ebay but as there not really a brand i'm unsure. Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
  11. I need to buy some bucket seats, i'm quite small framed so they need to be snug, also they are going in the fiesta which has a cage so space will be an issue. What can you reccomend? pictures would be good as well. Thanks.
  12. What size pistons? Make? Second hand complete set of cossy rods around around 100/150 second hand crank 250-500 depending on grind/condtion Pistons new are £500 but can be sourced second hand Second hand lightened flywheels 50 /100 Then it needs to be assembled mains bearings ect I think there 93mm but cant be sure, they apparantly are Hart 420R Pistons, so with the above prices whats it worth complete with new shells bearings and a titan twin plate clutch. The flywheel hasnt been lightened its a replacement one if that makes any difference.
  13. There just std cosworth rods in there.
  14. What do you think a fair price is for the bottom end complete with clutch, flywheel, sump and new cosworth racing shells and rings??
  15. no i've not got a head, just the bottom end.
  16. Also are the pistons heat shrunk on the rods or are they gudgeon pin?
  17. Yea i did think about that, its just you never know what your buying second hand, with this one its got new rings, shells and crank etc so i know its going to be a good one. So can i use that flywheel and clutch on a turbo application??
  18. Hi, What would i need to change my N/A bottom end back to run a turbo? can the pistons be machined or do i need new ones? can i still use the flywheel and clutch? Anything else i have forgotten? Heres a picture of it so you can see what i mean.
  19. Round my way we have those stupid lumps in the middle of the road so normaly you go over them with a wheel each side so the crossmember would be pretty close i think, well if thats the case i'll leave it as it is. The reason its that low is to make the prop as straight as it can be, is this quiet important or am i worrying over nothing?
  20. In the process of building my mk1 fiesta rwd and we sat it down on the floor with the engine in and the crossmember sits about 3" off the ground, is that acceptable as its being used both on the track and the road?
  21. I'm in the process of building my rwd mk1 fiesta and i bought a N/A YB bottom end that is sumpless. What sump can i use? Std 2wd Cosworth Sump? RS2000 Alloy sump? or do i need a dry sump system? Any opinions would be good
  22. Thanks for all the sugestions, i'll give a few of them a call.
  23. I'm down in kent, but dont mind traveling if its worth it.
  24. i've just bought a second hand N/A cosworth bottom end and i'm now looking into where i can get a head done for it, anyone got any sugestions or have had one built from someone? Thanks
  25. So that is from the drum face to drum face? if so appritiate that thanks.
