Rough sandpaper to key it, filler primer then 2 coats of black gloss.

They're still on the car. i sprayed them black myself.

Have stuck with the pots, have put the 5 spokes on fleabay. Car is almost done, 3 tyres and a pair of shortened rear shox and it'll be mot time

Update, finishing off the underneath at the rear, not quite finished but getting there...

'77 escort 4 door in royal blue 1.3L with a 1.6 lump in it. Went like hell til the diff gave up!

It does have a few light scabby bits but otherwise it's one of the cleanest mk1's i've seen in a while that still has it's original paint job. SS alloys seem to be a little pricey at the mo, being only part time i don't have the finances to buy them.

I supervise a bunch of polish cleaners in a local college. They only work 2 hours a day but they think it's ok to do 1 hours work then doss about for the other hour. Their standard of work is terrible and they moan like hell when pushed to produce higher standards. & today, i had to endure a bollocking from my boss for sloppy work. Needless to say two of them were given written warnings. They also talk in polish when they don't want me to hear what they're saying. On a second point, where i live (HP5 if u wanna check it out), the polish have moved in in droves. Housing is impossible. I have been pestering the housing association for a house as i think 5 of us in a 2 bed flat is taking the piss. Anyway rant over
