  2. hi i have got a modded essex turns out to be 3.1 (had a 60 thou over bore) swaymar inlet manifold ,vernier timing gear,60 thou power max pistons. took the heads off today: found wills ring cutouts in the block, looked at the heads and the valves are huge.............46 mm inlet and 41mm exhaust,i am trying to find out what spec these are eg stg1 stg2 stg3 etc...... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/ ... 3. any of the above AND Doro Pesch
  4. i am hgv mechanic(for over 16 yrs) they are trying it on....tossers truck wheel nuts are normally done up to 450 lb/ft then rechecked after 50 miles i have seen the damage that happens when trucks loose wheels...its deadly! there is a thing know as "loose wheel nut syndrome" when for some reason they come loose, it cant be explained .we saw it several times where nuts had come loose when they had not been touched(undone) for years...... 9/10 its down to wheel studs snapping and allowing the rim to move which then either snaps other studs or they work loose..............it happens a fair bit on heavy stuff.......or they were not done up right first time......
  5. what i did was nip to local scrappy find a 5 series bmw or 7 series look in the boot remove the battery cable all the way through the car,in the engine bay you will find a heavy duty junction box. i mounted the jct box on the inner front wing of the capri and then you can mount everything off there just bolt your earth cable to a good earth point in the boot.(i did 2 diferent earth points) cost me £10 at the scrappies
  6. have just got an essex that has been modded........ 3050cc powermax pistons new rods(polished) not sure of make race cam(not sure spec but engine was very lumpy on tick over) swaymar inlet manifold stage 2 or 3 heads (manifold matched to ports which are very large) waisted stem valves holley 390 vernier timing gear just wondering what sort of power it will give had loads of torque and reved its nuts off. prob has other mods as well http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/ ... C01106.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/ ... C01104.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/ ... C01101.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/ ...
