1.0 fiesta running problems doing my head in!!!

ive checked the carb jets there all clear, the carb i have noticed is leaking fuel on to the inlet manifold from somewhere so need to check that. But I cant see how that will only affect the no4 cylinder only. Ive changed all the leads and plugs now. still no4 non responsive. There is a good spark coming from the lead to the plug so im sure that must rule out any electrical problem. Fuel is getting through to the plug as it is sooting up the same as all the other plugs. I have noticed that it is worse when on full throttle and then when you let off it accelerates quite hard then goes worse again up through the gears. As there is no oil on the plugs the piston ring seals cant be gone, could it be as simple as the head gasket, as im not sure how long its been on there and by the state of the other gaskets probably could do with being changed? -
1.0 fiesta running problems doing my head in!!!

cheers Ive tried a few more things now. Ive come to the conclusion that there must be something wrong with the number 4 cylinder somewhere. I have the timing order at 1243. When I take off the number four lead nothing happens, but when I take off either 1,2 or 3 the engine note changes and eventually cuts out. I then changed leads and plugs over to see if it was them and still only number 4. I then changed the timing over to 1432, it was ticking over roughly, then did the above procedure again. Still only number 4 that didnt make a difference. Ive played with the air/fuel mixture screw and thats not made a difference. Ive now run out of ideas. Can someone help!! -
hi all, ive finally convinced the other half to get a mk1 fiesta. Just been through an MOT and now it wont run right. Hopefully some of you may no what im not doing right. It sits on idle fine and will rev when idling fine. however the second you pull away it cuts out if your not overrevving it, and then driving around it just doesnt want to pull, and ive noticed that if you put your foot flat down then lift off slightly it sometimes goes like stink. However when pulling away at junctions it just doesnt do anything it almost just cruises along, then either cuts out if you change up itll bunny hop for a bit and then finally go. My thoughts are its a fuelling problem but not sure where to start. Starting to do my head in!

Capri V8 conversion quick and easy questions
pccapri replied to pccapri's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Cheers I'll look in to those axle options. By left hand drive I do mean Clutch fork is the wrong side, is there a way of converting to rhd? Is it a new bellhousing or some sort of adaptor plate? -
hi all ive just bought myself a 302 v8 . I have a couple of questions about how to fit this in my capri. I was told that it came out of a capri so would go straight in. This wasnt the whole truth and now stuck with it! Firstly the gearbox is left hand drive, is there a cheap and easy conversion/fix for this and how? Secondly I have an Atlas axle which has been welded. The standard bhp for this engine is 250, probably a bit less now. however im looking at getting at least 400 out of it at some point with some gas . I dont think my atlas will take this abuse as i will only be using on the 1/4 mile. what axle should i replace it with? Ive just started to strip the engine as has seen better days, so im sure there will be plenty more questions to come!

courts use previous as bad character reference to see if you have learnt your lesson. and all convictions are kept for a 100 years or if you die. and unfortunately you cant argue it anymore as you have accepted the points.

Weight Saving !!! The car and me! that'll save at least a second! Ive been researching signing up for Sportsman ET class as well. But think thats quite expensive.!

I like your thinking Dave, I need to drop in to the 13's before end of season!

Another excellent classic ford show! Only my second but hope to go to many more!! I got another PB!!! Woop Woop now on 14.3 at 92mph. I have only KJ to thank for that (and most previous rounds as well) for getting my car running right again. Even after it was rolling roaded! Also I think Jo and Ali make the day for the OSFDC! (even if it does take her forever to read out the results in the rain.

Help Needed with electical wiring mallarcy
pccapri replied to pccapri's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
The buttons ive bought have looked quite heavy duty and werent cheap so i dont think thats the problem. If you could send me a wiring diagram that would be great. -
I have had a mate who was supposed to know what he was doing to wire my push button starter in my car. So far I have melted two buttons, and dont want to do another one for this weekend. Now electrical things arent my forte could the way hes wired it up? if so how should it be wired up and where from. All the standard wiring was stripped out and now only what i need is in there and put in by the same person. any help would be appreciated.

im gonna sound stupid here but could someone point out the TCA for me, is it repairable or need replacing and would that affect the steering being well out? and the wheel being so far back in the arch. i hit a 4 foot grass bank somewhere between 20-30 mph, could i have twisted the chassis?
