  1. It'll be awesome to race against some capris in the championship next season. The two seasons I raced in before there werent any capris so will be good to line up against another! Just got final few bits to purchase so will be ready for April next year!
  2. Do you honesty think that would be a better option than us 2? We are fixing the carpet with gripfill though........
  3. My brothers got an MG F which hes just put a new bonnet on. For some reason now the bonnet catch wont pop the bonnet open. We can get to the catch and release it but that doesnt do anything. Has anybody got any ideas of how to get it open? The battery is also dead now so cant even drive it to a garage to look at!
  4. Sounds good then. Ill have a think about it and decide between Mallory or Accel.
  5. they do but they are about 70 quid more expensive. Id prefer mallory, I was kinda hoping someone would say there amazing/ just as good to save me a few quid.
  6. Im looking for a distributor for my 302 v8, ive found one that would work perfect but ive never heard of the brand so was wondering if anyone on here has used them or heard them. They are called 'ACCEL'
  7. Yeah I didnt prep that much too start with. So ill start again when the weather brightens up a little bit. Cheers for the help guys
  8. My prep probably wasn't the best but I think some of it is wear and tear. Ive heard that theres a special paint thats used in vans and pick ups thats hard wearing?
  9. Ive stripped the interior out of my Capri and resprayed it Matt Black, However the paint isn't very good and is coming in up in a lot of places. Is there a better paint that I can use on the inside, mostly where the carpet should be? Or do I use a higher ratio paint to thinner?
  10. Ill swap them over and see how it looks before I ruin the bonnet. Another problem is they might obstruct my view. Hmmmm
  11. I love that idea! with the manifolds I have the angle on them would be awesome! But do I want to cut the fibreglass bonnet?
  12. Excellent! Means I'll be waking up the neighbours at weekends soon!
  13. Got my 302v8 engine fitted this week... Excellent work by Dazmush! The car is only going to be used on the 1/4 mile.... It currently has only the headers and no exhaust. my question is... do i need to run an exhaust for back pressure to prevent losing hp... reason im not sure is that I think I read on here somewhere that a V8 doesnt lose pressure as the gases release out of both exhausts seperately. How is my memory or do I need to build a exhaust for it?
  14. nothing today. But tomorrow I will be finishing cleaning the heads and refitting the valves and rockers. Then hopefully they will be ready to be bolted back to the block!!!!
  15. HI selling my gfs Mk1 Fiesta 950 popular plus. The car has just been through an MOT so has 11 months left, I have also just taxed it so has 5 months tax. The car runs and drives brilliantly and is quite economical. Only reason for sale is it was her first car and now wants something bigger! I have bought a Weber 32ICH carb which adds like 5bhp but is much more reliable and economical than Fords original, it is also the much sought after Italian Weber not the Spanish remake. Sale price is £950. Car is located in Aldershot, GU11 postcode. Viewing is recommended so you know what you're buying. I see this as a project car due to the below bad points, however wouldn't take much to bring back to its former pride and glory. Good Points: 11 months MOT 5 months Tax Runs and drives Weber 32ICH carb. (Italian) Completely original car, no aftermarket parts added, except carb Fiesta Supersport wheels Bad Points: Small amount of rust around the car, in numerous places Dent in drivers door (I imagine it could be removed easily enough with the right tools. Dent fixed in Passenger side rear quarter. I have repaired this, however I didnt paint over as going back to original colour will be much brighter than the origianl paintwork and IMO would look odd. Overall I would say the car needs a respray. If it was up to me I would Satin black the whole car. Interior is heavily ripped and would need reupholstering or replacing. Still comfy though. Pictures This is the dent that I have repaired and filled. It isn't as bad as it looks!!
