  2. Bugger.i'm confused. I need something around 2kw ( i worked out that much) but i cant afford £300. I know the sine wave function smoothes the output, but for anything apart from laptops would it be alright. (lights, telly, angle grinder, fridge, that kind of thing)
  3. Damn vista you got some sort of industrial kettle, it says it will do fo heaters, drills, etc. I know it wont do everything at once but surely it will take a fair whack. I just cant afford a 3-4 KW genny.

  5. point taken vista, i don't know about lee but my usage is more remote, unpopulated locations, day time only (they tend to get nicked or run out over night). i just wanted an informed view on that genny. Sorry for hi jacking your thread lee
  6. Sorry to jump in but i am after roughly the same kind of useage from a genny. I have been toying with this one http://www.inest.co.uk/products/Pro-Use ... ND_NEW.asp But the KVA bit confused me, how does this compare to output in watts ??

  22. Cheers for the responses guys. Rest assured i have bought myself all the safety bits i need, gauntlets, mask, etc. I have got my hands on some scraps of metal, so am just going to try different settings until i get what i think is right (i will put up some pics soon). I maight just mark on the welder the different settings (i always loose scrap paper). I like welding.........its like glueing but for big boys
