not illegal mate but if your earning a profit you have to notify the revenue within 3 months and fill a return in every year, I think under 18s will have to get their parents to sign it, just keep a diary and record everything you spend (printer ink/paper, advertising, home office etc) and you won't pay any an tax unless your profit after expenses is over your tax free allowance currently £6475.
