  1. Thanx, I know turbo is the best way to go for power, but i prefer carbs, so i'll stick to one or more of them, depending on the budget
  2. Been a while since i posted so here are some updates: Got me a 2.8i (now solex carbed :duh: ) granada engine, along with 2 gearboxes (type9 and type e). Plan is to slightly modify it (heads, valves, cam) weber dgas, and leccy fuel pump. I plan to keep 3:44 diff for better acceleration, and maybe even, 2.0 v6 gearbox, but i'm a bit worried that it won't last long But, before the engine, i need to put bigger brakes (granada 2.8 complete system with capri vented discs) and power steering. The original one, which came with the engine, didnt have a servo pump, so i fitted one from a sierra xr4x4 engine, with newer mounts and pulleys, because original ones don't fit, the pump is mounted on the different side than in granada. Some engine pics:
  3. Thank you all @Capri71-Nice comment man, thanx! Split is a nice little town (population about 200 000), But Monaco is way out of our league in everything
  4. Today was a nice, sunny winter day, so I took the capper out for a spin
  5. Haven't posted for a long time, so here goes Car is registered, mot-d, and finished, well at least for now Here are some recent pictures: Yesterday I painted the letters on the wheel and put on the mk3 grille, and it's going to stay like that for a while. Bought some new and used mk2/mk3 parts also, and got a skull shifter from a friend, fits like a glove More pics: Latest condition, it's safe in the garage, because of the bad weather outside:
  6. Nice taunus, I'm currently looking for a good 2d sedan for a dailly driver
  7. Great cars, especially the red XC coupe!!! What's the difference between falcon and a fairmont??? Equipment only or something else???
  8. Wow, great escort, i can see it's pretty lowered, tell us more about the car
  9. Mean is the word Great first OSF! But too low for my taste, 30 mm is enough.
  10. Thank you, as for the money... I started to build it 6 years ago erm... But it's almost finished, thank god
  11. Got the interior sorted out and completed, installed modern music in the glove box, got rs both 3 and 4 spoke wheels by pure luck And I switched the choke to an electronic instead of water one, because it warms much faster, and the engine works healthier... Some pics: 4 spoker, bought because of the wheel boss, but i'll definitely restore it in the near future 3 spoker from sierra, wheel was grey, I needed black, so I painted it with colour for leather, for now... before: Now: Interior: Electronic choke:
  12. Thank you all 2.0 V6 performs between 1.6 Gt and 2.0 pinto. Has more torque and a bit faster than 1.6, but it's slower than 2.0. But has far better sound
  13. Finished it from the outside, and thought i might take some pics  Still got to sort out the brakes, exhausts, and complete the interior.
  14. Haven't updated for a while, here goes Engine inside and running! First run (poor quality, 10 pm  ) After little tinkering, it started to work properly: Some pics: Temporary Taunus Manifold: Front end Next thing is to make complete new exhausts from stainless steel, so i can finish it finally. Cheers!
  15. Wheels could be italian BWA wheels. Seen those on old fiats and alfas.
  16. Thank you. Those rocker covers are (were) grotty ones from above I used mild sandpaper from 100-200-300-500-800-1000-1200, then the polisher and rude and mild paste. (excuse my poor dictionary, i don't know all precise names), after polishing, I had them chromed. They look alittle greasy on the pics, because i took the pics right after i finished it.
  17. Thought i might post some pictures, currently finishing the engine, and prepairing for installation: Some parts: Gearbox: Old VS new: Engine: New pics when i put the engine in! Gonna try to vid the startup too
