Hi all
I've been around a fair time on here, and having rallied a Mk2 Cortina a few years ago I've always been a classic Ford fan, but always wanted a Mk2 Escort. I work at rallies to so end up getting them pushed under my nose far too often to refuse lol!
So I thought I'd post up my new Escort - it's a '78 Ghia fitted with a 2ltr pinto and 5 speed Type 9 gearbox. Few other nice bits such as Pincess calipers etc.
Got a couple of things to resolve, such as the gearstick touching the handbrake lever in second due to the position of the gearbox (anyone got any ideas besides a cut and shut job on the handbrake lever?).
But aside from that, it needs absolutely nothing. Oh, and if anyone can give me a definitive answer on what grade oil to put in a pinto out of a 1989 Sierra that burns a slight bit of oil but is in very good shape, I'd really appreciate it - can only find conflicting advice in searches?!
The car was fully restored about 5 years ago by a guy local to me, and hasn't seen a wet road since. It's been kept quite subtle, and true to its roots as you can see. I intend to keep it that way. A 'few' photos if you're interested...
Thanks for looking, and thank you in advance for any advice you can give me for the two issues I mentioned above
Cheers
Paul
