  1. Scheduled to go on eBay at 8PM tonight.
  2. The Calypso is a mate of mines. It's so clean. I love it.
  3. Selling due to getting a new set of wheels. Set of mk2 Escort Ghia 13" banded steel wheels (originally 5 inch wide) banded out to 6.25 inch wide. Came off my Escort mk2 Ghia. Cars lowered 2 inches and they fitted all round on 185/60 tyres without any arch rub on standard arches. I lightly rolled the front arches just to be safe. Im running a panhard rod on the rear but without one you may have clearance issues as the axle moves about unless you roll the rear arches (mine aren't rolled). These are the original wheels my Escort came from the factory on. They were banded through James P on Retrorides about 6 years ago. They were blasted at that same time and are currently rattle canned in Ford Strato silver but its looking a bit tired now after 6 years. There is evidence of pitting from rust before they were blasted but they are 30 years old and aren't going to be mint. They could do with spraying again but they still look presentable. One has a slight leak by the join weld that needs dabbing in. I just ran a tube in that tyre and it hasn't ever effected it. Still currently have my tyres on but Ill be getting the removed at the weekend and they will be available next week. NO TYRES, CENTRE CAPS OR NUT COVERS INCLUDED! Bare rims only. £150 for the set? Will need collecting from Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Sorry no postage. I'd really rather not send bare rims as they can break free from the packing and are more susceptible to damage than wheels with tyres on (when I had these couriered to me from James, one did break free from the packing and turned up 4 days later in Leeds so I know from experience)
  4. I got a section 59 for hanging the arse end out of a T junction about 2 years ago. He pulled me over and in the same manner as you got "have you heard of a section 59" and I said no so he said "well you obviously dont"....duh.... Basically I got a letter saying that I had been pulled over and given a section 59 for driving without due care and attention, dangerous driving and not being in full control of the vehicle. It lasts a year on you and the car. If you get another in a year, they take whatever car you are driving off you, if someone else gets one in the car you got one in, they take it off you. From what I gather they just impound it and charge you to get it back. Not sure about crushing it. It only lasts a year though and youre in the clear. Mines expired now so Im good to go.
  5. Tune into Retards Club more often then haha Im a regular miserable twat on there
  6. Ive checked them out and whilst they are very very nice, they are ever so slightly above my budget at the current time. Id settle for a good useable one at the moment really.
  7. On the lookout for a straight rear bumper for my dads Mk1 Escort for his Christmas present as I'm sick of seeing his car with a bent one. He currently has one with the cut out in it but either would do. Would prefer the best used condition one I can find but wouldn't say no to a good straight bumper that just needs a re-chrome.
  8. Jesus Christ. That's bad news. Yep. Im such a fashionista. Thanks. Nah most likely not. Ill have the white Volvo on the road next year so Ill probably attend a few RWYB days in that but I wont be doing the OSFDC in the Escort.
  9. Dads fine thanks. He still has the mk1, now on its 3rd 2.0 pinto and Im currently trying to gear him up to rebuild the spare 205 block in the workshop into something more fun. He is currently playing about being American with a 1966 Ford Mustang. They certainly have Vista and it was the Volvo that made it happen. Before I bought it I couldnt do a lot and changing my own oil was still foreign territory to me but after some initial research and a few people saying "youll never do that you dont have the skill" I thought CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Sure Ive made a few mistakes along the way as we all do but its a learning curve. Ive done pretty much everything on the car myself except the bulk of the wiring but Ive been on hand as "tea bitch" for the guy doing it. I still cant weld though. Need to learn. I cant mate. Shortly after he left the site he sold the Capri, got really arsey with us and deleted everyone off his Retards Club and didnt want anything to do with anyone. Last time I saw him he was into his 70's Yamaha bikes and such things. I havent spoken to him for years. Thanks for the welcomes people.
  10. Good evening all, No your eyes don't deceive you, I have returned. For those of you who don't know me, I am Antz from North Yorkshire and I used to be the resident miserable twat on this site many moons ago (5 years according to my last login) but the quest for knowledge and questions to be answered has brought me back. Whilst Im here its rude not to say hello and update you all on what keeps my mind busy these days. Well, I still have the Escort. Still going strong and no longer powered by the 1.3 that it did have when I last here. Its now running a 1.7 that got me into great trouble with the NYPD (North Yorkshire Police Department) after some sideways antics. Anyway it now looking like this....exactly the same as before: Im currently getting some new banded wheels made at Alonze Fabrication to just tart it up but I just keep it as a turn key motor really. Other than that......die hard Ford fans look away now as we are about to bring out the flat cap, smoking packet and let the Labradors out. Oh yes.......a Volvo. I bought this in 2009 as a standard car and decided it was glacially slow I dug deep, rented a workshop, bought an engine crane and turned this: Into this: Its now all setup to run a Volvo T5 engine (2.3 5 cyl turbo) and stock they put out 225bhp. This one once Ive finished the wiring will be about 300bhp but Ive just bought a spare engine to rebuild and with a nice Holset turbo itll be pushing somewhere between 400-500bhp. Anyway, that's me.
  11. had mine on for the last 3 MOT's and its never been picked up. In fact everyone says they love them.
  12. get down to classic ford show. Jo will drag you round for the tour of introductions like I was my first year!
  13. nice one!!!!! I joined specially to look at that.
  14. sorry to hear your news Doc but welcome back and as they say. "one door closes and another opens" welcome back buddy
  15. Burns.
  16. I see both sides of the drifting argument. I loved to read it at first as a family member is involved with the BDC so it was good to read it and find out how a old Ford is coping in the drift world. then....i got bored and started skipping the pages
  17. Really, where from? got mine from A1 windscreens in York. It was £35 pickup of £45 delivered. He can also get mk1 screens
  18. A guy up the road from me was building a Sierra Sapphire Cossie into a rotten mk1. When I saw it he had just finished all the welding to the shell and floorpan so it was one piece. absolutely amazing stuff. Reminded me of the capri I saw in CF mag a few years ago with a Sierra Cossie IRS and floorpan grafted in.
  19. new windscreens only £35 in 2010 so it wouldnt of been much in 1970 odd
  20. i actually agree with PIG for once
  21. dont. buy a plate type lsd instead
  22. Commentating isnt the same without Murray Walker! And the stupid idiots keep talking over the team radios which is very annoying.
  23. kubica overtaking kobayashi. hamilton overtaking kobayashi button overtaking alonso rosberg overtaking quite a few people to work his way up the field thats 4 i can think of. Button just got a better launch off the line, its was hardly what I'd call an overtake, don't remember Rosberg really overtaking anyone, he got ahead of the others when he pitted (under the safety car ) as did kosayashi which just put him out of postion and the faster cars just drove around him. That leaves zero overtakes, and if you think an overtakes an overtake it still only works out at approx one overtake every half hour !! Never mind, Moto GP will be back on soon and we can watch some proper racing with real overtaking, no pit stops, team orders or safety cars Its still classed as overtaking as one car went past another for position during the race. Weather you think its a good overtake or not is your own opinion. Personally I think Moto GP is as interesting as X factor and I'd rather eat my own hands than watch X Factor. Thats my opinion and I dont watch the GP because of it. Steve every week you moan how shit the F1 is and that its not as good as Moto GP....why on earth do you watch it then? I dont watch X Factor and complain its shit. I go do something more productive with my life
  24. kubica overtaking kobayashi. hamilton overtaking kobayashi button overtaking alonso rosberg overtaking quite a few people to work his way up the field thats 4 i can think of.
