Those top mounts are good but for road use they are harsh, you'll feel all the bumps and tiny stones in the road, on a smooth track there excellent, i would suggest a set of rubber roller bearing top mounts!

I had the same thing when my volvo was written off, some lacquer peel in places and a different coloured wing as it was going to be painted 2 weeks after the incident happened, i battled it, proved it was booked in etc and they came to a better price, it was still less than it cost me to replace it but but was a sweeter pill to swallow though. Mine was extensive rear end damge so was not repairable, keep fighting them, prove it was booked in for painting, if you have a restor thread on here, proint it out and show them it, it will all help prove and strengthen your case!

These are brand new top mounts only dummy fitted to the car, never driven on. They are Camber adjustable top mounts and are for large hole wings as they are designed for the mk1 escort. I am not going to use them as have gone a different route now and they would be wasted on my car. Gaz sell them for the £150+VAT. This is a custom made pinto turbo exhaust manifold. It was made for an externally gated turbo. !!!! IT DOES NOT FIT A MK1 or MK2 ESCORT ENGINE BAY!!!! I bought it for my mk1 escort and will not fit in the inner wing with the turbo bolted to it, the turbo was bolted onto the bottom of the manifold hence the rose joints to support it. It is made of mild steel so could be cut around and made to fit the escort engine bay. It has a t3 flange on there, no cracks or splits, would make an awsome manifold for a space frame car or a sit up and beg pop (this is what it was made for) Looking for £300 ONO, collection only from croydon, surrey as it is not light and I don't want it damaged. I have a pair of used, probably about 500 - 800 miles max, Adjustable in situ TCA's off my mk1 escort. I have a pair of brand new and unsed, well fitted to the car to check clearence but never had fluid through them, Wilwood Dynalites. These are the smooth forged one piece ones. They come with mounting brackets to fit on an escort so assume they will fit anglia/capri/cortina etc. There are also some metric to imperial adaptors depending on what thread your brake pipes are. There are no discs with this but they fitted perfectly on my standard vented discs, and would fit larger ones too by the looks of it. There are pads included, again never used and a brand new set of pad retaining pins too. These are normally around £100 each with out the brackets and pads etc. They are classed as a replacement for the M16 caliper. I feel the same, I have a small locku with no power, I have limited tools and limited time too, i do 200+ hours a month every month plus overtime and 6 days a week usually, sometimes it goes into double figures before I have a day off. i moved house and garage and I still have no time. I get bugged by a few of my good friends all the time to get on with it, and I know when I get stuck I can call on them and they will help me out and vice versa, and I think if i didn't have them around I would never get it finished or have the motorvation to get on with it. There are a lot of good people on here that offered help and will gladly answer questions for you and give you the advice you need. Keep your chin up, have a little break from it and you'll miss it and want to open the doors up and give it a cuddle! Make a list of the issues your having with it and I bet with in a few weekends they could all be sorted out quite quickly! Dan

Having a clear out and have these 2 9 sockets extensions. I have an exhaust off my Mk1 it was bolted up to a 2.25" manifold (not for sale) It is a straight through single box system. Slight surface rust could use a rub down and lick of paint. The redblocks are good for huge power but a little thin on the ground. A friend has an ST170 engine in his mark 1 escort with a turbo on the side, running about 350bhp and runs 12's at the pod on road tyres and a rather ropey type 9 box! It's a rocket ship and has cost a lot less than a YBT would for the same power. Personally i am going Pinto Turbo, nice torque curve from only 8 valves and hopelfully should see aboutt the same power circa 300= bhp.

I am going basic in mine, a nice big rev counter in the dash binnacle and an oil pressure gauge and oil light then the rest, AFT, Boost, Water etc. will be on the centre consul. Dan

I agree with dodo juice wax, it's very good but as already said it's all about the wash and prep before you start doing the fun parts. I can easily spend 2 days detailing a car, and believe me it is very easy to wash and keep clean after that! I use dodo juice, poorboys, megs, autobrite, loasds of different stuff, it's expensive but spend money on good quality microfibre cloths and aplication pads etc. it makes a real difference. Dan

Depends how deep your pockets are really as you can spend a serious amopunt of money on a pot of wax, let alone everything else! It's down to skill as well, i would get some meguiars stuff first and have a try with that and go on the detailing forums and look at the how too guides, but be warned once you start that's it, your on a very slippery slope lol!
