  1. very nice wheels!
  2. For my point of a viev the Ford scene here is pretty lame. Law makers have made it very difficult for engine swapping. You can put legaly 20% more powerfull engine on a models top bhp engine. If MK1 Escort RS1600 had 120hp, you can put legaly 144bhp engine on a Escort MK1.. How sad is that? When you have had change vehicle inspection, then you can tune the engine. You can put turbo on Escort MK1 whit 1,6 kent whit small boost (max144hp), and after inspection... Some cars have "old" modifications in the registration book when there were no bhp restrictions in old days.. In Sweden things are better.. We have no Ford shows, just some smaller club meets.. Mainly its just tuning shows or american car shows. You can spot old Euroford in a show if you are lucky.. RS models are very very rare here! If you have Escort Mexico, its rare! I have seen these genuine RS MK1 Escort road cars whit my own eyes: 4 mexicos 1 RS2000 2 RS1600. Most of the RS models that came here have been put around tree for many years ago in rallying. This is what i have experienced..
  3. I recently ordered 7x13 superlites from UK, and now im anxiously waiting them to arrive. Im not quite sure how well they fit to my 65 MK1 Cortina, its litle lowered. I have 185/60 13 new rubbers laying in the garage, and hoping that they would fit.. I ordered same wheels also to my first love 73 Escort, which is currenly bare metalled. I have Sport/Mexico front fenders which im planing to put in. Front should be ok? not so sure about rear..? Escort is allso lowered about 2" Plan is lower both cars as much as possiple whit 7x13 Superlites. 175/50 13 rubber would be better for the Escort i think? I thought share this whit you: I also have old 7x13 magnesium minilites?(not sure about the brand) which i bought from a guy who have been workin for Ford dealer here in finland in 70s and had been involved in rallycrossing back then whit some of the big names of Finnish rallying. he show me some old pictures of rallycross MK1 Escorts. He allso gave me qenuine Rallye Sport Parts catalogue from 1977. Very interesting stuff, for example part number 9051205 is 7x13 magnesium wheel for Escort 1&2 and Capri 1&2 Wheels have taken some serious beating(cracks) in rallycrossing. I have bought some magnesium welding tread. My mate is working on metal shop and have the tools for welding magnesium, but we havent tried jet to fix them. will see how do we succeed..
  4. Here in Finland you dont need English language every day. If you dont read or use it you might forgot what you have learned from school (if you have learned anything).. Subscription of Classic Ford have helped improve my english for many years now. It have been also my channel to UK:s/world classic ford scene. You cant buy issue of classic ford anywhere here, i found magazine first time 2002 in a special carbook store, and new world opened to me. Since i have had subscription. On the pages of classic ford i have also found this site, so thanks for great magazine.. More interesting than my english books back in school.. I read it very well now, but i try to improve my writing whit litle help from dictionary..
