  1. Hi. I know ist not exactly old skool but I could do with the help. Is there anyone on here handy with body repairs and painting? My escort gti has bubbling paint on the edge of the roof and a few other minor bits of paintwork that I would like sorting. I dont realy want to do it myself because I want a decent job doing but I would rather not go to too much expence seen as how the car only cost me £900. So if anyone works in a body shop, has the equipment to do a good job at home or knows of a body shop where I can get a good deal then please let me know. Im in doncaster if that helps Can anyone help out? Cheers guys Chris
  2. Shot blasting is definatly your best option if you have access. Otherwise a wire wheel in a drill works wonders mate.
  3. Luvly looking car mate! Like the colour choice
  4. It snows in mine........is a corsa tho
  5. Keep it n create a monster
  6. exactly. but if when the DVLA contact the current registered keeper they may hand over ownership of the car.
  7. I think I read somewere that you have to apply for a new log book and include a cover note explaining what the situation is. From there I believe the DVLA will contact the registered keeper of the vehicle and if they fail to respond then you will be issued with a new log book for that vehicle. Although I also believe that once the log book has been ishued in your name you would only be the registered keeper and technicaly not the owner. Hope that helps
  8. looks like a nice job. well done
  9. Well Iv had a fair amount of practice and 3 hours aint bad. My zetecs a pretty tight fit lol. It takes nearly 20 mins to get the wires off the starter lol.
  10. Iv never worked on a capri but for most rear screens I would personaly connect it as follows: 1) I would usualy take the ignition live from the key or from the fuse board. 2) 8amp should be ok 3) I would think it would need a relay 4) 2.5mm 5) Yes it should have a terminal to earth to the bodywork Hope that helps
  11. bet you cant wait for the gas bill
  12. remove 4 bolts and slide out from underneith. About a half hours job at most
  13. Spent this afternoon getting my engine ready to come out for a rebuild. Only took me 3 hours to disconnect everything and only drew blood a couple times so dont think I did too badly. Next fine weather we have It will be out and into the garage for a couple months of fitting some new toys ready for next year.
  14. Great looking car mate. The wheels definatly suit it.
  15. Nice to see someone with a bit of consideration for their neigbours. Mine hate me lol. Might start taking my engine out after dinner
