Cheers for that, that would be why the box is so far forward and there is hardly room for the pinto!! probably best to mount the engine first and then see where the box sits?
Thanks again.
Sure this has been done a million times but i need help!!!
I bought a t9 5-speed and pinto from a p100, i got some blocks to lower the back of the box and the original Escort mount bolts up. The problem is the gbox is way too far forward, the gearlever whole lines up and i know this should not be so. Whats wrong? i guess i am using the wrong gbox mount/xmember, any ideas?
Any help greatly appreciated!!!!
Just bought a MK2 Escort as a new project now the Anglia is finished, have also a pinto and T9 'box that i want to put into the Escy and was wondering if it will go in with the standard steel sump or will i need the RS2000 ally one? and will i need an ally bellhousing?
Cheers for any help.
In my day many Cortina's (MK1,2,3&4) ended their lives in my hands at the Arena along with a MK1 3.0 Capri, Mk1 Granada Coupe, Mk1 Escort van and MK1 Transit van. Seems a shame now but in them days they were ten-a-penny and would have gone in the crusher if i had not rescued them for one last blaze of glory. Oh happy days!!!
Hello and welcome, I wonder how many of us got into old Fords for the same reason? I tried many times as a spotty teenager to mod Anglia's, Cortina's, Escorts etc but with no garage/skills/money they all ended up down the scrap yard. If only i had kept them all till now!! Good luck with the Grannie.
