I know im new here and dont really know anyone, but i know how it feels to lose a friend this way. Sorry for your loss mate, and on a day that usually brings happy memories. I hope he finds a better place.
  8. we used to call a tenner a "brown one" brings a whole new meaning to it! HAHAHAHA Apparently most 10's 20's and 50's have a miniscule amount of drugs on them that can be traced under a microscope from going through dealers hands. Worrying thought really.....

    DELETED

Its usually caused by damp under the paint when respraying or moisture getting into the paint itself. Unfortunately it doesnt always show itself straight away. My Cortina has a few of them on a couple of panels that have been replaced/repainted and ill be trrying to put it right in the spring. Im gutted for you mate, it looks a lovely motor.
  15. I have a thing about Mk2 Granadas. I owned a few in my 20's and loved every one of them. Even an old 2.3GL which would never start no matter how many new batteries, plugs etc it had. Still, it was all part of the fun back then. Just wish i had every old ford back that ive owned. I'd be absolutely minted
  16. Its nice to see a base model saved. Most people only seem interested in Ghia's and X's. They are all great but your "bread and butter" models need saving too. Good on ya bud. Its a lovely motor.
  17. I can only see one fault with it....its yours not mine Lovely car mate very well turned out.
  18. Seeing a Mk1 Fiasco brings back great memories for me. Lovely little car, well done.
  19. Thanks for the warm welcomes. Hopefully this snow will go away fairly quickly so i can get on with a few odds and ends on the car.
  20. Hi Nice to join a site dedicated to the type of cars i drove as a teenager/20's lad every day. I have a Mk5 Cortina 1600GL auto which is totally standard apart from the wheels. I am currently seeking some steel wheels. My car is a 1982 Xreg in crystal green and it is in very good condition with 86k on the dial. Its not perfect but a couple of weekends will bring it round. I use it as much as possible even though its a second car. Theres hardly a day go by that its not used though, whatever the weather i drive it. Its what it was made for after all I look forward to chatting and sharing opinions and (in my case rather limited) knowledge with you and maybe i can learn a few tips regarding an engine change to something from a later Sierra/Granada. Any tips will be much appreciated. Enough of my yakking for now!!!
