  1. I had 85 grams on an really old Wolfrace slot and the guy said its not unusual for really old rims, but don't bring it back with your shagged bearings
  2. I like the chrome too, but if I really had to cover it, use some satin vinyl, just peel it off when you realise you've dropped a clanger
  3. I subscribe to a couple of Granny forums, something even happens on them once in a while...
  4. No, old skool to me is some nice chrome bumpers, I think 1980 is a reasonable suitable cut off, although 1976 was the end of an era for me, hand drawn hand crafted over to the cad computer... I'm not sure what the eighties would be called in time, not shit for a start, theres some great cars, but not as nice as the 60's. IF I had the money, Id be buying a Cortina MK2 series 2 GT or Lotus, Escort MK1 RS, Oh and a Capri MK1 RS and and and... Dam! I gonna need a massive garage... Ive had my time blowing thousands on resto's and now nowdays, I like pottering around with my van
  5. I reconise your van from the Transit Forum, very nice
  6. There you go Alan, corrected your post for you
  7. I will do, but here is my current ride, or not, as the engine is giving some real headaches at the moment, any 2.8i experts on here?Transitmania last year
  8. MK2 face-lift, one of my favourites, but without the hoist If I had the money for someting concourse, MK1 petrol SWB panel with sliding doors. But Id still like to customise a MK1 bread van, like this one... V6, wheels, plain metalic paint... Please dont ask why, coz I dont know
  9. Very true, a MK3 Transit isn't considered old yet on the Transit forum, just an Ole banger MK3's are getting quite rare now and the MK4 even more so, but the MK5 (Smilie) is common as muck even though its the best looking of the 3. The end of the eighties was the end of an era at Ford for me, starting with the Prope and they thought it would replace the Mustang in 89 So what would you call the period between 1980 and 1990 "Middle Skool Ford"
  10. I'll have to dig out some of my old tina and scort pictures
  11. Arh! right, sound sensible
  12. What do you classify as "Old Skool" when I was running a Club in the late 80's early 90's, Cortina MKII's where called 'Modern Classics' 20 years +. So nowdays, what whats an OSF, is there a cut off date? I think my MK3 Transit van is 'Old' its 21 this year but because it looks like a MK5, people don't think its that old, just ugly and out of date...
  13. Thanks for the welcome, this site is vast and stuffed to the brim with info, cant believe Ive spent most of the afternoon and evening on here... Quick question, how many post do I need before posting photographs
  14. F**king murder comes to mind... I bet they didnt catch the little sh*ts
  15. LOL good, most famous Transit driver I know
  16. Thanks for the welcome, I know Fred, weve met a few times at the Ace cafe and a few other Forums Not seen much of her lately... Although we have seen more of her than maybe we should have!!! Sorry being a newby I can't post pictures Haha
  17. Hi all, I'm Alan and been playing with Old Fords for years, even starting a couple of car clubs... Had a break form cars while my kids grew up, but over the last few years, Ive found a bit more time on my hands. Was given a 1989 MK3 Transit some years ago and Ive been mucking about with it a bit. Home made bumper, skirts, grille, lights and some other bits that are still in the shed, I love playing with plastics, but I'm starting to hate the engine, thats another story. Fitted an old 2.8i V6 with a 3 speed C3 auto I rebuilt, about month back, its not a happy bunny. Anyway, hope to learn a lot and give a lot. All the best
