after popping up to the portsmouth meet yesterday the fiesta wasnt up for the drive down to southsea front so i split and headed home. got in and headed to the garage, late hours meant i couldnt get on with big jobs so settled into fabricating a bracket to hold the crank sensor in place. i made it with a level of adjustment in it so if it needs it it can be adjusted for better signal strength etc. got the trigger wheel welded onto the pulley first.... also got the wiring tidied up..... then got up today and was quite happy with the weather and working conditions. couple of jumpers and headed out.... the only think stopping me getting the car down on its suspension is the exhaust and stripping the underneath. tackle 1 at a time so: start by cutting more out of the floor. now the exhaust is routed high enough and fits then i can start putting metal back around it. got a couple of hanging brackets sorted to support the exhaust in place... the previosuly mentioned weather turned as soon as i was defenseless and was under the car. puddles formed each side so i stayed under and carried on until i was soaking. finiseshed seaming the exhaust mounts about 2hr ago so made a bit more progress on the turbo manifold but batteries died on the camera. work tmrw, then 2 more days off and then 1 day at work b4 the weekend. maybe on the floor by end of monday???? cheers. paul

dropped off the mother at the airport this morning early, gone to meet the old man in japan so the house and garage are mine for 21 days woooooooooooooooo. no1 hassling, no1 in my way and i ve got a week off work starting tmrw!!!!! to start off the time off i got through some bits and peices: i had heard the ral-des coilover kits had sorted their top caps out so i took a risk and theyr alot better than before: ive got the lip on the bottom pulley ground back flat so the fan doesnt foul the crank pulley bolt, then got this through to go on it: manifold is coming along slowly with the collector making progress: temp rested stuff in place to have a look how it sits. find a way to fit the heater to water pump pipe through there: and bonnet clearance should be fine with a strut brace going over the blower: should have some good progress updates as the week off goes on. cheers. paul

heres the directions that 'capriclive' put up from the first meet for if anyone needs them. from southampton; come off M27 junc 12. at traffic lights, straight across (signposted paulsgrove, cosham. keep in left lane. straight through 3 sets of lights until you reach roundabout (first one you come to) at roundabout left. at lights, left (QA hospital) past hospital, up hill to small roundabout. 3rd exit PORTSDOWN HILL. follow until just after churchillian pub turn right into viewpoint car park. sounds difficult, but once off junc 12 about 3 mins away. hope this helps. cheers. paul

i dropped mine 2'' originally mate, used single leafs decambered 1'' on the back and a -1'' lowering block and on the front i uprated to the 2.8 bilstein shocks (which you'l already have) and used rally desing -2'' springs. i will also vouch for the axle location kits as i used to give mine some real abuse and she stuck sooo well but if you wanted it to slip out then it would but you could control it alot easier. car looked ace when you popped into work. paul

well as the MOT is showing more face each day the work is nearly completed to get it through... plus a few minor extras lol. MOT is booked for thursday so that leaves me tmrw morning before work at 11.30 and the same on thursday morning and any time after work that can be done quietely as i finish at 8. jobs still to do... finish the seat second seat mount, remove one of the bars from the first seat mount, get some more steel tube and reposition the removed bar, drill the mounting holes for the seats, pick up the second seat, bolt the runners to the seats, bolt runners and seats into the car, cut the mounting plates off the harhess shoulder straps, adjust harnesses, relax. heres a coupla pics of bits of work so far.... the frame welded to the runners to sit the bucket on (the rear bar needs moving forward 5mm) the rear brace which doubles as the harness mount.... will get some pics probly thursday morning of how she looks going into the MOT. pauly

hello johnson...... i love your fez.... read through the thread on it on xrtwo the other day. HOT!!! decided to keep money spending down to a minimum on the festa until the capri is done, thus giving the capri more money and also not wasting money in the festa just to change it all around when the capri goes on the road and the festa becomes the big project. excess weight was pulled out today in the form of: sound deadening, remaining interior panels that arent needed, stereo and speekers etc. finished changing all the ignition stuff and fitted the new starter solenoid. still waiting on suspension but that should be sorted tmrw. also pick up a set of wings and a front panel for later on. also modified the original seat rails to take a set of corbeau bucket seats today: cheers. pauly

hell yeah im gunna be busy lol. got a leda suspension kit coming through for the fez with 30mm drop which will do for now. i needed new suspension to get it through the mot so thought i'd do it properly. ive got to sell the mk1 capri i have as i have too much to do..... bought this imported treacle but it was FAR too gone to save: and so replaced it with this: its goint to take too much time to get back to the condition i would want it so its gotta go..... anyone interested? cheap to members with lots of spares.

just picked up a new member for the family: its got no tax or mot... mot was booked for this week but im still waiting on suspension to get it through. so i stripped out the back, changed most wear parts since i was waitin on the suspension..... discs, pad, serviced the callipers. new igniton lines, dizzy parts, leads etc etc. cant wait to get it on the road...... its going to be my runaround until the capri is on the road runing its pinto turbo. then the fiesta is taking its project place and getting a zetec on bodies and management. plans are to go rwd when the funding suits. coupla pics of the capri's progress... first is of it running with original engine in early stages: and now..... cheers. pauly (oh if anyones got any mk1 fiesta suspension then pm me pleaseee!! preferrably lowered/uprated and southern based helps alot, cheers).

looks like somones already been in the pub with that spelling lol. sounds like a plan, although it would be cool to meet at the hill first and then all head down to the churchillian together. i tagged a tasty yellow mk2 in poole today with a note with the forum address and that we were having a meet... so who knows he may turn up. looked nice.
