hi all thought it was about time i signed up
i have a mk2 escort on a V, 4 door 1.3 l beige
i found her hiding i a garage back end of last year and thats where it had been for almost 10 years with the last tax disc shown in 97
i gave it a quick wash some fresh jungle juice charged the battery and away she went
i then freed the front calipers and got her book in for the dreaded MOT
which i very pleased to say she went straight through with one advisary the fornt brake where out of balance with only 12 miles covered from last mot
so when i got her i tried to free the brakes some more but brute force and ignorance see me bust a caliper
luckily for me my next door nabour (BGC motorsport) who deals with rally design alot sorted me out some willwood four pots with vented discs along with a bias pedal box and some braided lines (which he can make specific to your requirement at competetive prices)
so with all that installed my steelies would not fit over the brakes so once again curtesy of rally design i treated myself to some 6x13 RMD wheels and new rubber
i think that just about it for my car
as for my sister after i bought her to classic ford at santa pod last year she was taken up buy the mk1 fazzies steaming up the strip
so the hunt was on we came across a 79 1.1 down the road for sale
so we snapped it up it has just has new arches fitted and painted and suspension all round
when i got it home i stripped it and had any weld done that needed doing
and repainted the floor plan with hamerite spray in black to protect it
then i had to install the compulsary first car sound system
once it was back together she instisted i install rear seat belts
so having searched ebay i found a set and the bloke also had a very good set of door seals which i also bought as hers had seen better days
then took it for an MOT and it just needed and little welding on the sill i missed but other than that its spot on
